Really? Store the rolled canvas vertically?! I've been storing it on its side for years and yesterday cut a piece from the roll to stretch. I'm getting to the last part of the roll. And once tacked on the stretcher bars I noticed waves in the canvas I could not stretch out. I fixed it by spraying a bit of water on the back and when it dried that pulled it tight ( though I wonder if it will revert in humid weather.). So maybe this is the reason to store the roll vertically?

Remarkable. Every moment with Quang Ho is an antidote to today's inhumane, angry milieu.

One of the greatest artists of all time. Certainly of the modern day. I wish I could’ve studied with him before his passing.

So many of our GREAT PORTRAITISTS and ARTISTS are passing! I'm just learning today that Master Painter Daniel Greene passed last year! I also just found out that the LEGENDARY Richard Schmid passed last year as well. RIP Daniel and Richard. I have learned so much from both of you!!!

What expressive art Mark is making. The juxtaposition of the toys and the images of warfare is striking. And how appropriate that he uses gunpowder, a tool for war that he is repurposing for artistic expression.

Thanks for the video, my friend! I have not heard of Quang Ho before, but he is impressive! That snowy scenery at the end is amazing! Is it a painting done by him?

Spent the summer of 87 in that studio as a monitor in his workshop. Brings back so many memories. Fabulous teacher! Learned more than my previous ten years. Not a day goes by when I'm painting that I don't think of Dan's advise. And so do countless others,

Sorry but that is just a waste of good paint - showing the quality of paint needs other defined use - the fact is you can smear any old öl paint onto a surface it does not show anything even the cheapest öl paint looks good if you smear it on in masses.
