Best Line Up, but I'm also a big Gene Trautmann fan, would be my "other favorite Line Up"

I miss when the American late night host would introduce the hot new band European rock band to an unassuming audience. Simpler times.

Best version of this song ever. Joey Castillo really adds to this songs epicness by playing at such a manic speed. Joey Castillo beating on his drums with a speed and intensity as if his life depended on it, Mark Lanegan's gravelly bellowing voice painting a darkly beautiful picture, Josh Homme's and Nick Oliveri's guitar and bass parts barely hanging on but still mostly in sync, Troy's crazy lap steel solo, etc. It's just an amazing performance from the best era of an amazing band. Doesn't get much better than early 2000s Queens of the Stone Age live. My only wish is that this performance was recorded/mixed better so that we'd be able to hear the full magnificence of this song, but even with this fairly simple recording, this performance absolutely ripped.

This is the most perfect performance ever of this song. Mark Lanegan is perfect. Joey Castillo is a beast.

Wew..some of Nick’s Best and most Flashy Licks right there. Dare I say that Nick was often holding back on some of his more Sassy Pizzaz and his Whole Enchilada Itinerary as the Komodo Dragon Of Rock and Roll, veritable Godzilla on the Bass. Unless he was playing with Lanegan that is. Then it was just pure Fire and Fury. That’s some heavy ass shit right there, Fo sho!

If this band does not hit the top of the pops around the world, how is there any hope for punk and or rock on the world stage. I guess that is for rap and bubble gum now. Shame on the world of apprciation for soul generating music.

I remember Letterman after the break still gushing over the Hives, "I just wanna say a little something about The Hives; that's all we're looking for, is for someone to come in here and do THAT" with Paul adding "That's a show band!" Wish I could find the clip. Rare to see Dave get so blown away by a musical act like that.

Maybe because they're Swedish? Easier to miss a foreign act than a domestic one normally. Most of us over here in Sweden know about them, even people not interested in their music.
