Nice hack 👍 Only downside is it blocks the hole on that quarter where you stick your rain fly pole.

For a 1lb propane canister it is not bad. Cooked our food just fine. And in snow, at 9500ft. Just saying.
@MQuinn-eb3zzКүн бұрын
I believe that people pay way too much attention to the weight of the pack. With a moderate sized tent and food for a 4 plus day trip, you are talking about somewhere around 30 lbs of gear. If a pack is too light, one faces the prospect of being able to carry that weight comfortably. A pack that is heavier, may carry that load with comfort despite adding to the overall weight.
@christopherhaak9824Күн бұрын
Hopefully no one is carrying 30 lbs for a 4 day trip. It's 6-8 lbs of food, so that would mean a base weight of 22-24 lbs - that is crazy heavy. Those kinds of weight make backpacking of any distance not very fun. If you are just walking in a ways and staying in one place, by all accounts, load up and have at it.

V2 doesn’t work with Slide to create a sling. Unlike V1, tether points are off-center on either side (there are 2 on each side) so it is impossible to balance the bag. A terrible design change.

I would be quite keen to buy one but NZ price is unaffordable and shipping from overseas is prohibitive also.

Try to buy it in NZ and not have to pay extraordinary postage/shipping to get it here or pay through the nose NZ inflated prices.

Thanks for the review! Do you see any issues tying down the Kula to any other sup with anchor points? Also, is it tall enough to fit a fifth of liquor?
@the_axistence_athlete2 күн бұрын
The inner height is 11", typically 750ml liquor bottles are 11.5"-13" (but depends on the bottle). So it won't fit upright, but I imagine slanted it should fit just fine. The only issue with tying it down to other SUPs would be if their tie down locations were at an odd spot on the board (like on the nose, or tail) which would make the balance funny. So as long as the D rings are in a decent place...there should be no issue.

I like these shoes a lot. They’re great on long hikes, although I’ve never taken them backpacking with me. I have a pair of Vivo Magna ESC with the Michelin treads that I use on multi day excursions, although I wouldn’t hesitate using the Mesa Trails. Just prefer a grippier tread. For day hikes it’s hard to beat the Xero’s.

Hollyland audio definitely has significantly less quality than Rode or DJI as I hear it your video. While would seem OK for some uses, for my own educational content creation, wouldn't be acceptable (currently use Rode). Shame, as I like the small size of the Hollyland. Good video, thanks.
@Engearment5 күн бұрын
Thanks! Totally agree. There is a newer version of the Hollyland that is even smaller and some people really like them. There is also a new version of the Rode and DJI that are even better too.

I've had close to a dozen Xero shoes, and this is the only decent pair I've had. I like to go completely barefoot on city trails, but I don't care to try going up rocky trains in the mountains, so I bought these for a Pike's Peak hike. Every other Xero I've had has been trash. I kept buying them because there weren't many other options for barefoot style. The grip on these is incredible. Probably better than any traditional hiking shoe I've owned. I hope this is a sign of things to come for Xero, but it doesn't seem so based on my most recent purchase form them.

Sean: excellent review on the differences between Gore Tex Gore Grip and HDry. To address the question in the comment by @hanwagu9967 the HDry membrane does reach down to cuff for complete coverage. Gore Tex and other traditional inserts are "free hanging" meaning they float as Sean describes between the shell and the inner lining of the glove. HDry is a 3D direct lamination technology which bonds completely to the inner of the outer shell of the glove thus sealing all seams and eliminating the "gap" that exists with free hanging waterproof inserts. Gore Grip is essentially the Gore Tex free hanging insert combined with an extra layer of membrane heat press laminated to the shell however it DOES NOT cover the seams. Therefore the "gap" still exists.

I'm a fan, I have their Men's Alpaca Wool T-Shirt and saw they now have a Men's Alpaca Wool Hiking T-Shirt which seems to spec out the same. Company states difference for Hiking is: " Design and Fit: The Hiking T-Shirt is designed with outdoor activities in mind, offering a slightly different fit that allows for more movement and breathability during hikes and physical activities. Fabric Treatment: The Hiking T-Shirt may have additional treatments to enhance its performance, such as moisture-wicking or anti-odor properties. Price: These additional features and specialized design elements can contribute to the price difference." Struggling to believe it's really much different and not sure I'm on board with "treatments". Trying to get them to increase the inseam on their boxer briefs as well.

Hey there!! I’m hoping you could help me a bit 🙏 much like you- I’ve been a fan of Costa Rincon, Lido, and Paunch XL. Though this Bajio model has a more “wrappy” design, would you say that their fit is similar to the Costas listed above? I know blind buying is dicey but I’ve got a great opportunity to snag these at a discount. Any help is greatly appreciated! I thank you so much in advance 😎
