A good day is when we learn something new. If it wasn't from your channel, I would have never attempted BGA repair. You do make it look like anyone can do it though. I would have to argue that for sure. It's not easy at all, especially if you shake the slightest bit. One little twitch will remove more parts from the board than you can replace. awesome recovery too! My dad was the same way when he would work on something. If it didn't work after he worked on it, he would tear it back apart and start troubleshooting it to find out why it still didn't work. He always said, "Never give up until it works, everything is repairable!" granted when he worked on electronics, the micro electronics weren't really around until later in his career, 50's - early 2000's.

I destroyed a Nintendo switch processor trying to clean it up to reball it, and the whole time I was cussing you out, because you make it look like a child can do it. lmao! Lighting is much better. I'm sure once you record a few more videos you will get it dialed in the way you want it, but for the most part, it was pretty clear. Just to let you know. Don't buy polarized lights. if you have to have it polarized, you can buy a lens for that. way cheaper than buying a new light. I think it works good just the way it is anyway. Oh, by the way. I got my Hakko 203 finally. That thing is like a whole new soldering experience compared to the Yihua. I only have the temp on 320 deg vs 800 from the Yihua! Another great recovery too!

No don't do it! It's not worth it! LOL. Very nice enjoy the new gear. WIll be a game changer trust me! You already know! Thank you also for your advice on lighting. I already tried polarizer and it doesn't work well. I plan on trying out some diffent color gel swatches to get the lighting right! I used to do back up av and video for major events like concerts and conventions so I'm familiar with what can be done with the right color filter on lighting. Hopefully this will yield a great end product. 🙏

@@phonedatarecovery Nice! I've never worked with lighting like that. the closest is when I wired the space odyssey exhibit in the Denver museum. I had a little education on different lighting lenses to mimic the lighting on Mars, but that is about all the experience I've had with something that sophisticated. I'm sure once you're done with the lighting, you'll be getting messages from other youtubers for advice. Yeah, it surely is a game changer when soldering. I feel like I'm learning how to solder again. I've burned a few pads off some practice boards already not realizing the iron actually holds the temp better. lol

I've been an electrician for over 30 years and deal with lighting glare with clients all the time. An indirect light will reduce the reflection you have. I do have one queation? What brand of iron and heatgun do you use? I have been looking at a hakko and weller, but i don't know how well they are for heat transfer to the tip and especially the micro tips.

They do sell ones with both yellow and white to have the best of both but I haven’t personally tried those. I found the gooseneck lights to be a big improvement on reflections due to being able to shine the light at an angle rather than straight down like it does on the ring light. I found it reduces the glare back into the microscope massively. I Really do enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for sharing.
