You are too funny. There are so many variables. E.G. Have you accidentally run over the solder line while trying to remove a piece of glass, have you chipped the cutter (run your finger over it), is the glass starting chip on the edges when you run the cutter over it, are you pressing harder and harder to get a good score line, have you dropped it? It is almost the same rules that apply to scissors. I've had my personal cutter for years, but the classes I teach and the abuse the cutter gets means a change out at least once a year. Hope this helps.

bit useless...my oil isn't coming out...no advice on this...just basic use not really maintenance..

Try turning the screw to let some air in so the oil will flow.

Hold the cutter perpendicular to the glass, use steady and even pressure as you make your score. Is there a stained glass shop near you that offers classes? I encourage to you take a course if you can.

@@glassartdiva In my county we don't have trhose classes, it's more to cut glass bottles to reuse them.

The water may not be hot enough, the score needs to be even pressure all along the score, etc. I found at the beginning of learning that practice and watching/reading other sites helped. I wish you the best

Hi Thanks for this video. I have a question about hobby came. Can I put the came on the foil without tinning the foil?
@glassartdiva2 жыл бұрын
You can but you would have better adherence tinning first. Also, you have to make sure all the copper foil is covered if you just add the came to the piece without tinning.

can I use baby oil in it I ran out of oil
@glassartdiva2 жыл бұрын
I would not recommend baby oil. If you have olive oil in a small cup, you could dip the cutter into that.

dont know what you mean about the nail polish tip😒
@glassartdiva2 жыл бұрын
Take a bit of nail polish and paint it onto the bit, one straight line up the side of the bit. When you use the bit, the polish at that point will grind off. continue using the same spot until that spot is used up and then move to the next spot where there is polish.

I need help getting the current grinder bit off….it has no nut holding it in but it won’t budge any suggestions
@glassartdiva2 жыл бұрын
Try spraying a little WD 40 and wait a bit. Also there is a tool that plumbers use that grips onto the bit and somehow pulls it off. I’ve never used it but it’s worth a try. Another possibility is to take a small elastic and place over the hole. Put the Allen wrench in the hole and try turning it. I hope this helps.
