I woke up on this Sunday morning with a hankering to hear this song. It never fails to hit me to the core. Might even get me some eggs over easy with some flour tortillas today. Thanks for posting this.

This is when a song, lyrics, performer and moves come together as some preordained magic power that only Hollywood could create. But she's real. What a talent. 😍👏

JB’s response to CSN’s “Wooden Ships”-David Crosby was moved enough by the song that he joined JB on vocals when he did the studio recording.

Love this clip. Saw her around the time of this video at the Lonestar Roadhouse in NYC shortly after her album debuted, opening for Donald Fagen's New York Rock n Soul Revue, and have been in love ever since.

I used watch this show every week... "people love you when you are leaving soon" I saw John in 1987 at Godfrey Daniels... He was singing songs from 'I Know" A witty song writer, a thinking man's Springsteen.

The song is a perfect meditation on the human condition and the flawed, mysterious and amazing thing called living. Perfectly executed by this tremendously gifted singer songwriter.

Hard to describe how much I Iove this. I've watched it many times, and I think it's just about as perfect as it could be. It's tragic that the rest of the show isn't available.

Magnificent to see and hear these two together. I’ve seen them each perform twice in the mid-1990s, but separately - never as a duet. Gorka’s sadly out of print album “Temporary Road” features this song, plus other gems.

Most songwriters have to struggle their entire life to finally get to the point where something like this song is possible: The point where you quit trying to be clever or wordy or “powerful”, and you use the most stripped down language to convey the deepest of emotions. The deceptively simple line “Nobody knows me like my baby” takes on three different meanings through the course of the song. It goes from “she knows my appetites” to “she looks through my lies” to “I will never find another like her”. It’s devastating.
