30/12/2023: you can only fight chaos with chaos for so long, chaos wins out in the end. After my grocery shopping yesterday, I made the abrupt trip to the drive test centre to get a license. Then came home clam happy, till I thought of that photo (Befreiung April 13, 1945 - that woman with her outstretched arms, ear to ear grin, as the other train passengers ran uphill towards their liberators) and I cried with my shoulders bobbing. back in the summer, after some bittersweet news I bent down to write the title of this song in some secret corner of my apartment -- it's as if the year ended then, everything else was extra.
