I have one of the gold discs that surround Eddie's portrait, it's the one for C'Mon everybody. Very honoured to have it here.

He should be the king of rock n roll. Elvis is a good singer but Buddy is a singer/songwriter. My favourite singer and l wasn't born till 1974.

Ok this is bs!!! Buddy’s 58 Stratocaster is in Lubbock Texas. His 55 was stolen in 1958 so that’s why he bought a new one. Get your facts straight before you put up BS like this.

A very moving video. Even through the screen you can almost feel Eddie's presence hovering around that wonderful guitar, as if his soul and his wonderful music have been absorbed into it.

If it was a prototype you would think Leo fender would have something saying that buddy bought it and have serial number could that be possible I'm sure those on here know more than me I would like to know more about this

Could Fender trace the serial number to the music store where Buddy hot the guitar? If it is in fact Buddy's strat. Shoudnt it be in the Buddy Holly center for all to see???

OMG Cmon man, look at the Buddy’s’54 strat grain pattern it’s bold and there is a knot or dark curl in the wood grain just above the bridge and this strat in question has NONE of them grain features in fact it’s very plain and has almost NO grain patterns on the front. You’d be a fool to think this was buddy hollys guitar lol

Interesting wee video. I have no idea who the english chap is/was with the flattened vowels. . I always thought the daryl himan felloe was the only englishman with a hardon for eddie cochran. What's Jimmie Intvelds connection to the video i wonder....

I am dubious, if it was an early prototype I'd expect the serial to be on the rear white plastic scratch plate (which is missing) and have no serial on the metal backplate, I'd also expect the actual serial to be in the early 200s, however I'm aware Gilmours 0001 was probably not numero uno but possibly the first Mary Kay or 1 of the first custom colour strats however even that one was rumoured to be built for a competition). Eitherway, she's a beautiful 54, just curious where that numberplate would've come from as the potdates don't seem to match 🤔

Nope, that'd be Elvis. Don't even argue the point because you'd just sound stupid. Unlike you, I don't feel the need to make some pointed remark about another artist because I admire another, so I'm just pointing out a fact, not disrespecting Eddie Cochran.

Buddy's time here was so brief but his legend lives on 66+ years later. Ed Sullivan accepted that music among other things was changing and rather than fight it he embraced having rock and roll acts on his show. Not to mention his ratings went sky high and there was no competition on Sunday nights until the show went off the air in 1971.

Ritchie Valens borrowed that guitar from Eddie for his role in the film Great balls of fire " I think that's the name"
@adamrichards317410 ай бұрын
"Go Johnny Go" was the movie. Chuck Berry was intended to be the main attraction, but after Valens' death he became the biggest draw since so little footage of him performing was ever taken, and even less exists now.
@richieluckenbill15905 ай бұрын
That wasn't Eddie's guitar. That was just another Gretsch 6120. If you look closely, you can see that the pickguard isn't clear, and it still has the stock neck pickup. 2 different guitars of the same make.
