People don’t do this sport anymore. My dad did this sport when I was a kid down in Wellington fl. There is no money in that sport. Luckily my dad started buying properties in Guanacaste Costa Rica and Antioquia Colombia and we own several hotels and a private airport to support our family. Soaring isn’t bad because you can compete world wide in different soaring competitions and train people. I also think opening an indoor pickleball center wouldn’t be bad if you were in a good area and had a bar and showers. I haven’t played pickleball yet because here in the Andes mountains there are no courts. I go to the United States often but my visa ran out but when I get it updated I plan to play some pickleball.

The ski don't make the skier the skier makes the ski! Only the elite will feel the benefit of a ski and for the rest it's just placebo.

Would have been nice to see him first ski the HP, then the Goode. New ski's are obviously better, but it's rare to have a magical improvement on the first set. It takes time, tinkering and your own body's adjustment for the benefit to show up in bouy count. Skis now are so much like tuning a guitar, it's got to be perfect for the sound you are after and style of your play.

One last question. What color bands are you using at 36:00? I can't tell from the video where the waterski handle rope ends and the bands begin. Is that the blue band? Are they the same bands at about 40:45?
@susied8795 Жыл бұрын
Starting at about 26:00 is that just a regular waterski handle/rope that you have have attached to bands? Or is that specifically a waterski handle band? I looked at the Serious Steel items on AZ but they only have really small handles for one hand.
@swervemaster-tristorcelli2602 Жыл бұрын
It’s a water ski handle. I also use the small handles from Serious Steel as well.

If you've never gone from a 20-year old ski that was part of a combo set to a true slalom, you won't know the difference. I did something very similar this summer. The true slalom was wider for me and the full-fit front boot. There is a real difference.

As a short duration anaerobic/power sport it's a bit of a stretch to think that caloric output in water skiing factors in at all. It's like measuring caloric output of an Olympic lifter. Now if you really want some relevant numbers, figure out a way to measure force output or watts during a pass. Other than crunching data from a load gauge on a rope I have no idea how one would actually do that, however.

I bet you burned more calories than your Apple watch is telling you. I can be on the treadmill for 30 minutes (minimum of 4mph carrying barbells) and only get credit for 10-15 minutes of exercise. I am sure it doesn't account for the entire body workout you are getting. I enjoy most of your videos, but I sure do miss the mag! Best wishes Todd.
