I'm right handed and right eye dominant but recently lost my right eye so now I have to learn to shoot lefty. This is difficult because i do nothing left handed. When I saw the Impulse I knew there was hope for me. Being able to switch the bolt handle to the left side and having only two motions (forward and rear ward) instead of the four motions is a game changer for me.

I watched a man from Finland kill a Moose and a Caribou with a 300 Win Mag using 125 gr Nosler acubond bullets. If you think about it he gets a fast hard hitting round with little recoil. The Moose. Was close the Caribou was around 225 yards. Both one shot kills. Both dropped in there tracks.

@AdventureOne3 ай бұрын
Yep! I just like cast because there are no weird coatings, it is cheap, holds heat well , and lasts forever if you take care of it. Aluminum and stainless are also fine - they just regulate heat a little differently.

I know this is a old video and the dude has probably learned by now, but do not face your tent to catch the wind like he did in the video, your tent is not desgined with aerodynamics in mind. when setting up your tent you want the side with the most pole support taking the brunt of the wind.

After two years, are you still enjoying the rifle? I've read concerns with straight pulls. Considering picking up one, either the mountain hunter or hog hunter version in 30-06. I am also left handed, is a left handed model sold or do they just use the ambidextrous bolt?
@AdventureOne3 ай бұрын
@@WildeeProject I don't use it a lot, but that is a hunting access and a 300 win mag issue, not a fault of the design. I rarely shoot it, but I enjoy it when I do. There is no lefty version because the bolt is easily swapped (I made another video showing how). They are always right-side eject.

Awesome…. But we hunt opening day on public field…. People are lined up like it’s tailgating a football game in the field and you can limit out. The hiding thing is just not an option. You gotta get where the bird are gonna be. Which is in the middle of an open field in this instance. Nobody else is going to hide.

Terrific lecture. I would have paid money to hear it. Sir, you nailed most of the important concepts I have encountered. The punch that hit me hardest was the part about positioning yourself for the optimal shot and avoiding the temptation to take the sub-optimal shot, like the going away shot. I just returned from an hour in the field with my chocolate lab Lily. I took a box of shells out along with a loaded gun (28 shells for those scoring at home), and brought back 8 birds when I shoulda had a limit. I truly appreciate your advice.
