Larry has been an inspiration to me for more than 10 years. Jon, your "transcript" enunciates the words that make the sounds. This is very helpful for beginner and intermediate students alike and I wish there were more "transcripts" out there. I'm including some of my "tunes" at the end of this post in the hope they might help others. The "transcripts" are very helpful for putting a show together, too. I once played, not very well, in front of 200 people and the "score" was important to keeping the performance "tight". My story: I taught myself to play in the late 90s. I was in England and we were doing an international day at the college I was attending. The Australian students did, you know, squatters, Bondi, football, surfing, the Sydney Opera House, pavlova, etc. I thought to myself, "where's the other 40,000 years of our history?" So I looked it up on the internet. This was before KZbin existed so, from written instructions and with a vacuum cleaner tube, I taught myself to play and breathe. I eventually bought a beautiful 112cm bloodwood didj from Stirling Station NT, in the key of E. Sadly, it is in Australia because its too heavy to carry around the world and there is always the risk that Australian Quarantine will confiscate it on return because it is made of wood. Back in 2013 I made a simple white plastic (PVC) didj. That went missing in my travels so I just bought (2024) a collapsible and beautifully decorated PVC didj from www.didgeridoo-passion.com in France (why don't we make them in Australia???). It is an excellent substitute for world nomads and has allowed me to practice when I want, not just when I visit home. My "transcripts": dabada - dabada - dabada - daaa ; didgeridoo - didgeridoo - didgeri - didgeri - didgeri-doo [played quickly] ; didgeriiiii - didgeriiiii - didgeriiiii [played slowly and mournfully] ; what about me - what about me - what about - what about - what about me - ; you do - you do - you do ; kookookookoo-kaa [Kookaburra, enunciated over the top of the drone] ; ah - ah - ahhhhh [crow, ditto] ; woof - woof, woof, woof woof [dingo, ditto]

Hello mate. I'm playing a yidaki made by Badikupa Gurruwiwwi, a relative of Larry's. (My first ever yidaki I bought in 1999 in Sydney,) Larry is playing a sandwich-style UK-made didjeridoo by Tall Paul that he bought while performing at Elementary Festival 2019. Yidaki from North East Arnhemland and are generally slightly conical shaped....Mago from Western Arnhemland tend to be tubular in dimension...

I found this by chance after hundreds of videos from all over the world ad diversity of styles and didges / yidaki. I am most interested in traditional styles and appreciate so much your generosity. As someone else has already said above, this is a gift to the humanity, culture and energy. This is what we need in stead of so much negative aspects of human kind. Let me value this special gift. I hope one day I can be able to imitate this style. Great chalence for years to come! Bless you both!! From Spain Alberto
