Winter in Denmark is like a bad summer here in Norway..... Test it in -25 C.
@ElGoogKO
@ElGoogKO Жыл бұрын
Nobody cares. Who lives at -25C?! Less than 1% of the human population (and this is taking the whole of canada as well, which only the upper part sees such cold temps, so i'm being too generous in my estimates)?! 1C is perfect cold driving case for the vast majority of people.

Too bad I have 40 km, not 30 km, to work. 😅 Then again it's mostly 90 km/h and 80 km/h roads. It should be able to do close to 40 km on electric power at those speeds.

How much fuel would it spend at realistic highway speeds such as 150-170km/h? I know electric only range would be pretty much non existant, so I'm asking about hybrid mode. I have a TDI, and it uses about 7l/100km at those speeds, but I've been looking at these GTEs and they are awesome. I drive a lot more through town, but once every few weeks I make a 250km trip on highway, and I'm interested how would GTE do in long range High speeding?
@boandersen7677
@boandersen7677 5 жыл бұрын
I have not tested petrol consumption over long distances at those speeds. In Denmark we have a general speed limit of 130 km / h. At the speed (136 km / h on the speedometer) it uses about 6 l / 100 km. At that speed it runs almost without the use of electric motor.

@@boandersen7677 but can you make to use elrctric motor also? Thinking to buy one and i am not sure what fuel consumptions i will get for trip to work and back. Its about 120 km on max 70-80 speed roads

@@belekasas1 Both motors can be activated at the same time. But a GTE is not designed for daily trips of 120 km. It works best for daily trips of 30 - 40 km between charges with the possibility of occasional long trips

A little technical question. A cold engine suddenly jumps in at 100kph, isn't that bad for the engine? I'm old school thinking and an engine needs warming up a little before revving it or driving on a fast road.
@tomsixsix
@tomsixsix 5 жыл бұрын
@@echonitte The car does this. In the video you can see engine is started at idle, then about 10 seconds later load is applied. But also on the EV mode the oil is regularly circulated around the engine block by turning over without fuel, ready for take over or rapid acceleration.

0:25 you could get a potencial plus 11km's if you switched off the heating and other stuff.

It's on purpose I had the heater on. I would make a realistic measurement under cold weather. I am aware that it reduces the range by more than 10 km.

The route forth and back is selected to eliminate wind impact and for comparison with Kia Niro PHEV on the same route: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIjXe4Kcr66boKM (Note: No heating in the Niro test). The trip was run with a freshly charged battery. This means that the battery is heated, and a heated battery provides better than a cold battery. Therefore, it is a good idea to use the car's set-up time, when the battery is charging. Then you will get the maximum range.
