It's a deal breaker to OP. Everyone has them, and it's better he communicate his and end a relationship than maintain one that will end eventually. Deal breaker items are coined that way for a reason. I, as a woman, would rather be told something like that up front so I could end the relationship as gracefully as I could. Not everyone has the same needs.

After 3 years? Why? It takes maybe a couple of months to get used to the fact the people treating you like their kid taking care of you as adoptive parents and making their house your home are supposed to be to be called parents.
@Plasticcameraa2 сағат бұрын
You don't know this person or what they might have been through. They said that calling them mom would have made it feel to permanent, maybe they're scared of getting attached only to lose their "mom" again. Ofc I don't know them either,, so maybe it's just a trauma response, maybe it's just the way they are. Either way, waiting a long time is perfectly normal, especially if their older.

It’s not out of line. That’s the whole point to a married relationship. The only thing I would have suggested is asking if her uncertainties around kids stem from her hiding possible infertility. If that’s the case, it’s an issue of lying and changes the debate. Honestly, you’ve been upfront the whole time, so if she’s been saying “someday” when she means “no”, then she’s still a liar and wasted both of your time. This is why you need to get this stuff sorted before you sleep together/ move in together. If your values are incompatible from the start, you shouldn’t do all this extra stuff.

I don’t think it’s the whole point of being married, but yeah, this sort of stuff is important to discuss before getting too serious in a relationship. It wouldn’t be fair to OP if their plans for the future were completely shelf because their partner can’t make up their mind

Listen, if he's like a brother to you, you treat him like you would your brother, and be real. He f**ked up, on you for holding him accountable,even if he hates you for it. Good on you OP, you're not a traitor, you did the right thing.

I would never let either one of my kids donate a kidney to me. Absolutely not the other way around. Sure, but children should not be giving body parts to their parents. That's ridiculous. This father is a colossal AH and how dare you come to a child you've abandoned and ask for anything, let alone an organ. I mean the audacity.
