What do you think of cold plunges?
@carriebaileynutritionist
@carriebaileynutritionist 5 күн бұрын
Welcome @katrinaannaplavniece7890! For athletes and healthy folks, cold plunges can be beneficial For people with Long COVID and other complex or chronic health conditions, cold plunges can be harmful. They are very hard on the adrenal glands. You are activating the danger response and causing the body to go into fight or flight. This triggers a huge adrenaline rush. Putting ice on a specific body part that is excessively inflamed is ok, but the whole body in a bath of ice is a no go.

Glutamine and sugar feeds cancer. Any thoughts on supplementing with glutamine when it’s show to feed cancer?
@carriebaileynutritionist
@carriebaileynutritionist 22 күн бұрын
Welcome @DrAcula-vl3qc! I've talked about the root causes of all disease (including cancer) in other videos. At a high level, these are pathogens and toxins. The foods that drive these are the combination of sugar and fat. No one is pounding pure sugar. The sugar people are consuming includes fat. Cookies and cakes are butter, sugar, and flour. If you are eating a burger and fries, those are starch, grains, animal fat, and oils. People are adding butter to their potatoes, sweet potatoes or winter squash. Food combining is tricky, but once you learn it. Symptoms decrease and healing starts to happen. I cover food combining in this video > kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3TRZJmAntGtq7s Regarding glutamine, if someone were to eat foods that feed pathogens like gluten, dairy, and eggs AND they also are very toxic with heavy metals AND they were diagnosed with cancer, then adding glutamine might not be a good idea. I recommend starting here before adding in glutamine > longcovidrecoveryguide.com/.

Hi @leilamoon5879! I recommend taking supplements in single form - each amino acid separately. That way, if you have any issues, you know what caused what. This also allows you to increase and decrease each individual amino acid. I put links to the individual supplements in the description. You can take them all at the same time with glucose rich food like banana as that will help these nutrients get into the cell. Start following the instructions on the bottle. You can increase the lysine pretty high. Check out the Long COVID Recovery Guide for details > longcovidrecoveryguide.com/

How is there not any research to back up whether or not fruit feeds things like cancer or candida? Some say it does and some say it doesn't. You would think someone would have done some research by now to prove these theories true or false. My fruit fear is that some people say the fruit we eat from grocery stores has been hybridized to become as sweet as possible, and now it is way way sweeter than what we would have ate in nature. Or compared to what our closest primate relatives eat. And for that reason they say it can cause problems like feeding candida too much. I do know that I have talked to a couple of people online that say they have access to lots of wild fruit where they live and they say that none of it is as sweet as the fruits in our grocery stores. And the Health Institutes that I am aware of don't recommend eating much of this overly sweetened hybridized fruit either. Since I know I have candida, I'm a little fearful to try mostly fruits.
@carriebaileynutritionist
@carriebaileynutritionist Ай бұрын
Thanks so much for being here and for your comment @DaLeSy! Media, doctors, and other sources say fruit is bad which has led to people eating less fruit. And people continue to get sicker and sicker. Could this be an agenda of misinformation in order to keep up unwell so that the big pharmas and the healthcare industry get more $ in their pockets? Doctors used to sell cigarettes in ads, back in the day, remember that? If we eat less fruit, the medical industry makes more money from pharmaceuticals, procedures, and care that suddenly become vastly more necessary due to the increase in chronic illness. There is no money in doing a study on the benefits of fruit which is very sad! I am deeply concerned that the limiting belief about fruit at large will continue to keep people sick. If we don't eat fruit, where do we get our vitamin C? We cannot live without this super important nutrient. In fact, most of the clients I see have symptoms of scurvy which is a severe vitamin c deficiency. You can learn more in this video > kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3uVqYdvi8eEptk. Candida is not the root cause of your symptoms. It is an opportunistic fungi. It is there to keep you safe and balanced. The true root causes of your symptoms (all symptoms) are viruses and unwanted bacteria as in dysbiosis, strep, e coli, and h pylori. The way to kill them is to eat TONS of fruits and vegetables! Hybridization isn't a bad thing. We have been doing that for thousands of years. It's not the same as GMO which is harmful. Hybridization is a natural process that gives us access to even more varieties of fruits and veggies. Fruit naturally contains both glucose, vitamins and minerals that our bodies need for optimal health. Processed sugar is devoid of vitamins and minerals which further deplete our bodies. We cannot live without glucose. If you stop all forms of sugar you will die. This is why people crave sugar esp on keto or carnivore diets. Your mitochondria require glucose and oxygen to produce energy. Fruit contains anti-viral, antibacterial, and antimicrobial properties that you can't find in any other food or supplement. Last comment is on the real problem with sugar in any form is when you eat it with fat - even within 3 hours of eating fat. It's this combination of sugar and fat that is the problem. This is what leads to cancers, diabetes, insulin resistance, alzheimer's, and the worsening of symptoms. This is why carnivore really works because you took the combination of sugar and fat away not because you took the sugar away. Your body still needs sugar and the most natural source is fruit, but eaten away from fat. 🙏

@carriebaileynutritionist
@carriebaileynutritionist Ай бұрын
Thanks for being here @pamelamohn5931! Pasture eggs are indeed the best eggs, but eggs are still a problem even if you don't FEEL it. Eggs are a ball of hormones to grow a baby chicken (kinda like milk is food for baby cows). Those hormones feed pathogens like viruses like EBV and unwanted bacteria like streptococcus which cause low grade infections in our body and are then triggered by stress, covid, a car accident, etc. Soy should also be avoided directly and indirectly as you describe, in the feed of the animals we eat, because it is heavily sprayed and GMO in most cases.

Hi @lindabueckert9559. Matcha in moderation could be fine as long as your other adrenaline drivers are low like high fat diet, skipping meals, stress, etc. Just because you don't FEEL it, doesn't mean it's not a problem. If you aren't reaching your goals of eliminating symptoms, I hope you will explore taking a matcha break :)

Is the reason you shouldn't eat fats with starch/sugar because we need the sugar and minerals to fuel the body, not to be used to fuel adrenaline? Wouldn't eating glucose foods alone cause a spike in blood sugar?
@carriebaileynutritionist
@carriebaileynutritionist Ай бұрын
Welcome @oliviahose8545! Love your questions! Yes we shouldn't eat fats with sugar and starch because combining these two foods causes the blood to be thick with fat and there isn't room in the blood to carry the minerals and glucose we need to fuel our bodies. Your liver needs glucose most of all and if it doesn't get this fuel it becomes weak and can't functional optimally. The adrenaline surge you get by eating a high fat diet is used to help thin your blood. Adrenaline also feels good and is addictive which is why people crave fat or the combination of sugar and fat together. When you first transition from a carnivore, keto or other high fat diet, it will take time for your liver and pancreas to repair themselves and heal so you may initially have spikes, but over time it should come down. I used this method with one client to move her HA1C from 6.9 down to 5.7 in just a couple of months. We are still continuing healing so I expect the 5.7 to continue to come down. I teach more on this topic in this video on diabetes - kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3TRZJmAntGtq7s.

@carriebaileynutritionist Ай бұрын
Hi @TubeYooer! Well actually there is a misconception as to the true cause blood sugar instability and insulin resistance. The issue isn't the sugars in fruit, starchy carbs, honey, etc. The issue is combing sugars with fat. Think about the ingredients of cookies, cakes, donuts, even candy . . . it's not just sugar. I talk about this concept a lot in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3TRZJmAntGtq7s in case you are curious to explore this idea a little more.

Nicotine patches help many people with LC and ME. Do you know of any reasons why it might be helping with methylation? And I started adding in creatine and amino acid recovery mix this summer. I thought the creatine was just helping hydrate the cell, but then I found out that it helps with methylation by saving the body a lot of energy and saving scarce resources. Any thoughts on this theory?
@carriebaileynutritionist
@carriebaileynutritionist Ай бұрын
Welcome @TheNicotineTest! You ask such great questions! Generally, nicotine slows genes like DHFR which is also slowed by folic acid and methotrexate. Nicotine is a stimulant. Sometimes stimulating the nervous system helps and in other conditions like MCAS, stimulating the nervous system results in negative consequences. Creatine does spare SAM which allows SAM to support other genes. Your description is accurate. To that end, I don't think nicotine is helping methylation, BUT some genes are sped up by inflammation and other underlying issues like toxins, viruses, etc. If a gene starts going too fast due to inflammation, etc. and then you add nicotine which slows the gene it might actually be at the optimal speed. I do see this as helpful, but also a bandaid. I believe the end game is to get to the root and pull it out (reduce/remove the inflammation, toxins, and pathogens) so everything (not just methylation) works better. BTW, amino acids can be a game changer too depending on how long you have been struggling and the functioning of your gut. If you can't break down proteins to the amino acid level, adding them can turn many things around.
