From my experience watching these stunt videos they like to use 1 1/8 bars. They usually Taper down towards the handles.

I bought one and I'm trying to do the same as you but I'm basically learning as I go. The person who had it before did all kinds of ghetto wiring with long ass wires for something that only needs like 2in max lol so im going to have to cut and rewire it. I want to be able to wash the bike without having to worry about exposed wires. Any ideas to clean up and waterproof it?Also harness is dirty as shit so I was thinking electronics cleaner spray for it.
