Hey Garrett, this is so insightful! I agree with most of the strategies you mentioned as I’ve been through the same steps in the past. One question I had is do you find your master’s degree as crucial as the leetcode prep while working full-time? I would appreciate your thoughts on it!

I don't see how answering one of these puzzles in an interview is indicative of an individual's ability to write well designed, performant, manageable, software. Have these leetcode kids ever put anything (of their own) into production? Once? How about over several decades?.. No, they have not. I've seen lots of poorly organized spaghetti garbage produced by kids with more attitude than Trump.

Shoutout to Striver ("Take u forward" channel on KZbin). An absolute goldmine for coding interviews prep!! He has covered and provided intuitive solutions with interviewer expectations in mind. The content covers important topics like Recursion, DP, Graphs, Trees, Bit manipulation, Sliding window, Greedy, Tries, etc., An exhaustive list and has a sheet that has the problem link too!!. Sorry for the huge ass message but it's really worth it!!....Gold content for absolutely free of cost.

What does pseudo coding a solution in 10 mins or less mean? Does it mean you try to solve the question for 10 mins then see the solution if ur not able to solve?

Its a bit misleading saying you studied 3 months every day for 3 hours. So for 1000 hours. ? But 3 month = 90days, *3h = 270, you mention at least 3 hours, so okay maybe 350 hours in that 3 months. That's still only around third of a 1000. So would be more realistic to say you did it for 2 years, with a big sprint at the end if it was really 1000 hours. Or how was it actually?

Thanks for this Garret! I'm that guy on right end. Chad/mp < Garret < Chimp. My first coding round, and I was asked isUnique() for string input. I only solved half the problem, very sad! I have done 100+ LC and failed to solve this easy problem. Hurts very much. Now, I'll read that green book. Put my first coding round fiasco on the back burner and keep preparing for the upcoming ones.

So, 3 hours a day for 90 days would be 270 hours. Then how did you manage to study leetcode style problems for 1000 hours? Practised for more than 90 days or more than 3 hours a day?
@Bryan_Hunt Жыл бұрын
I completely agree with basically everything in your video, but I do have a question. I am a person who learns as I go and learns with experience. So I pick up on concepts as I solve problems. Would this be as effective? For example, if I want to learn about hashmaps , I would like to do many problems involving hashmaps to understand the fundamentals of hashmaps … Of course I’m talking about basic problems to start off with. What do you think?
