Oh, I see that you are a university band. I played under Larry G. Curtis, at Cal State U Long Beach. We were the only non-pack 10 band to ever be invited to march the ROSE PARADE and we played GERSWIN down the whole route, along with an old jazz standard, "Ja Da", and some California song like California Dreamin' (beachboys). We marched 350 and played symphonic jazz down the parade route the whole 5 1/2 miles all the way to the fwy concrete building going on. We were a force to be reckoned with. I wouldn't trade my band experiences for anything.

When I went into the hospital in 2010 I gave my instruments to my friend's daughter's jr. high orchestra, whom I had never met. Why? because the high school director NEVER fostered any comraderie with his two feeders. I had something like 4 trumpets, a semi-pro flute, a semi pro trombone, a couple other trombones, an electronic keyboard, and two saxophones. Altogether around 10,000 of instruments. I wish I would have seen this then, as I would have mailed them to YOU!

This is my favorite TRIO of all time. This is my favorite march as well for high school, and "Make Way for Melody" is my favorite for Jr. High (and I have used this for my band). Very nice trio. Very nice light touch with the sousaphones. Nice CRISP trumpets with nice attacks and releases. You've done an excellent job. When I listened to the album on YT I did NOT think that it was a high school band. When the video came in my feed, I was quite shocked, and I am used to GREAT high school bands, as I fed into Chino High and along with Magnolia Jr. High helped put them on the map.

"Love's Holiday" is such an underrated song which makes it very special to hear it be played by a marching band.

I love FAMU and The Marching 100 ❤. OMG I can’t believe that FAMU is still playing that song. Man Chief, The band director made us eat that song 😂😂😂😂 every practice every game every parade we Marched. Jones High School was the mini Marching 100 in Orlando and I am 57 graduated in 1984. Yes indeed where pride and tradition is what we taught. One and one sound. Put some respect on Jones High School and FAMU NAME! We were not a band we were family and had a band Director whom graduated from Florida A&M University and came back to Orlando and inspired us every day. Thank you James “Chief” Wilson for your leadership and dedication commitment to your band students. Rest Peacefully 🧡💚🐍🧡💚
