I so admire Dylan Moran, not least for the fact that he somehow keeps on being touching and smart and wonderfully funny despite battling alcoholism or whatever it is that’s making him look breakable. And I believe he has the brains and the heart to be just about the greatest English speaking comedian of our time.

Thanks for the video. Love revisiting the "North and South" mini series. I lived in Richmond for quite a few years, including when this series was made. My undergrad history internship was done at the "Museum of the Confederacy" on Civil War medicine and treatments, which was very lacking. More men died of disease than the injuries themselves. Lee on his beloved Traveller horse. I can't say I'm pleased with the monuments having been removed on Monument Avenue in Richmond. I lived on that Monument for a time, and always in the area. Even 40 years later, I'm still enraptured by this mini series. As it concludes, I feel like that 22 year old as I was in 1985, tearing up, knowing our series had ended.

Thank you so much for this programme. It informs me of my ancestry in the most heartbreaking way but without your efforts I would not have known about it. ❤️‍🩹 ❤
