You can get her back into ur party without a glitch its actually a part of the game have u ever noticed her at the midgair church after she dies she will almost glah and disappear well you only have one chance so don't go to the church until u give the guy at kalm all three item the desert ro as e earth ring and guide book then beat all four vr opponents at golden saucer now go to the church arieth won't flash and will be there permanently go up to her put controller in second slot hit L1 R1 O at the same time and you will enter dialogue and she will join your party again the items u give the man in kalm have to be in a special order so save before hand like I said u have one shot so fight the vr guys first then go get the items then save then then give them to man in kalm

Original author here. I come back years later with a piece of trivia! I recorded it as a kid. English is not my first language, I learned it myself by playing video games. That's why it has so many grammatical errors and a lot of sentences may seem pointless. I wrote everything in my language and then used a paper dictionary to translate it and made a video. I could also play fights better, but at that time I didn't understand the battle and materia system pretty well - I played because I enjoyed the story. It all started with a video from Japan (the link is still in the description). I started to post about it on forums (from my country). Nobody wanted to believe me it worked. I even got banned for trolling (XD). Therefore, the recording isn't edited at all except for fast forward in a few places, because there was a limit on the duration of the video at that time. A friend of mine suggested that I should make it in English because that way more people would learn about "keeping Aeris alive". It was 2011, nobody knew about yuffie warp glitch yet, pc version of Final Fantasy VII was unplayable in some cases and using gameshark with original ps1 console was tricky for many. For some it was the only way to play with Aeris to the end. (And yes, it works on console too). I feel I should better explain how it works. When the Temple of the Ancients arc ends, the game permanently removes Aeris from PHS. This is just a programming flag triggered by the cutscene. Similarly, another flag also makes Aeris pernament in your team before going to the Temple of the Ancients. That's why I named this video "How to keep Aeris alive", because skipping that event and these flags makes Aeris stay in PHS forever. At the exit of City of the Ancients there is another event flag that allows you to jump into middle of the events before Aeris death and thanks to that you can continue playing. Using that "free roam" method you can pick up all materias from caves as well. It's only matter of using world map (it still shows proper coordinates and it's matter of not ending floating at the ocean or stuck in the wall). I don't recommend visiting Mideel, because it will crash your game. You shouldn't be there till cd2. And I recommend world map glitching only near the chocobo farm, because this is a large, empty non-mountain area and its parts are the most convenient for traveling around the world. That's why, for example, I didn't get chocobo near Rocket Town. This can be done immediately after leaving Midgar, at the very beginning of the game (when you catch chocobo to bypass Midgar Zolom), but skipping such a portion of the game including recruiting Cid and many other items is not a good idea. It just breaks your game. I know I'm not the first to do it and a few people knew about it before. However, a lot of mainstream media picked this up after I uploaded it. Even someone showed this method during Games Done Quick and it made me very happy. I didn't expect so many views because even then I knew that the video was very amateurish. I would like to thank everyone who saw it and commented. I am still pretty proud of it (none of my works gained so much views hahaha). I still love Final Fantasy VII and wait what will happen in the remake. I hope we will get a proper way to enjoy Aeris to the very last end of the game. See you in the next 9 years!

Aeris should have never died in the original FF7, the game developers should have just found a way to work around that. Her death was just way too sad and heartbreaking!

I think it works on console. You even don't need another game, just open the disc tray. P.S. Sephiroth not bad! Shinra and JENOVA is bad, Sephiroth is just the victim of circimstances!

Yes, it work on the console with original CD, what you have to do is change the CDs (what I made by accident) at certain point of the game allowing you to do what you did, to get there without Aeris, then Aeris is killed, Cloud throw her body into the water but still you can manage to keep Aeris to use as a party member (and the first time I finished the game was with Aeris, without Knights of the Round, couldnt get Black Chocobo, as I used Bahamut Zero max lvl + Quadra Magic max level on Cloud and 2 Mime at the other party members, also both Mime materias max levels . . a sequence that take about 16 minutes to complete and I had to do it twitce to beat Sephiroth, a "real long fight" there). Fun fact: I read at a game magazine this trick after I completed the game first time and after I could not save Aeris on my second run through the game. I started the game again, tried to use the magazine method and . . couldnt save Aeris again /facepalm . . . my first time playing the game was really a lucky one.

the game where its the easiest to win if you just attack attack attack xD never needed a healer, theres to space for that lame healer character i once tried giving people actual jobs, like healer/mage/attacker, it mage the game so much harder! especially on the superbosses, kill them off before they do crazy damage, cant waste time on "oh, lets heal with the character that shouldnt even have an attack command"
