This is an interesting technique. I know it is generally called ultrasound assisted A1 pulley release but what Dr. Blum is doing is not the Percutaneous Trigger Release method. What is the knife method shown in the video called so I can search around Chicago for a surgeon skilled in this technique?

Please talk about spinal cord injuries that are caused by compression over time like myelomalacia & how it causes permanent myelopathy. There isn't enough discussion about this even after ACDF is preformed.

I was watching this to learn about the procedure as I am having trigger finger surgery in two weeks. I had to stop watching because your music was so loud I couldn’t hear you speak. I wasn’t a good song either!😂 Perhaps no music next time, it seems to cheapen the procedure. I’ll have to watch another KZbin video where I can hear. Otherwise, I did like your explaining everything as you went along.

Dr. Blum is the best. I had my index and ring finger operated on for trigger finger three weeks ago. What an amazing experience. I now have full feeling in my fingers and no trigger finger. I found Dr. Blum to be kind, compassionate and a skilled surgeon. The office staff is excellent as well as his surgical assistant, Jennifer. Thank you Dr. Blum for your expertise and kindness. You're the best!

My Aged Mother in her early 80's at the time, went for a "Revision Knee" replacement. But, it became infected, and she had to go for what they called a "Washout" but this is when her "Real" problems started. She was driving at the time, but here in the UK where most cars are "Stick Shift" she began to select the wrong gears, either revving the engine, or causing it to stutter. I don't drive due to medical reasons, and said, "Mum what has happened" she had been driving since 1975. Then she began to either oversteer, or understeer. I told her she would have to give up driving. But she began to deteriorate, to the point that she lost both arms, and eventually her legs. She became incontinent at both ends, even losing her speech at the end. She was placed in a "Nursing Home" where she eventually "Passed Away" We went to her Funeral only last Friday April 19. If anyone out there is told they have "Cervical Myelopathy" and Surgery is the only option. Then get it done, my Mother, before she lost her speech, wished she had opted for Surgery. She may have still been here now, if she had the Surgery, to reverse the Spinal Cord compression in her neck.

@@joerobert-qe9cn I have a second lot a scan's, neck motion X-ray, CT, and MRI done this week and the surgeon is going to let me know what options are available. Surgeons have so far suggested surgery to prevent further deterioration. However, they said it will not fix the current problems (neck, shoulder, arm pain, dizziness, instability (I close my eyes and it is like I am drunk). This all started last year (October) while I was at work. I went to lift my arms and pain ran down my neck, shoulders and arms, it was so intense I could not move my arms for 15 mins. Lifting anything set the whole thing off again. Not looking forward to any surgery (scary) Cheers.

I did my research and found out that taking vitamin coenzyme vitamin B6, P-5-P (Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate) 50mg - 3 times a day along with Chelated Magnesium (as magnesium glycinate) for absorption, cured my trigger thumb! From my research they said you have to take this for the minimum of 6 months to start working. Well, 6 month and 2 weeks later my trigger thumb totally cleared up, seems like overnight after suffering for over a year and a half. I'm cured, and just last month my hand doctor said he thought I should have the surgery to fix my trigger thumb! My trigger thumb was really bad, had to splint my thumb 24 - 7. I even had steroid shots in the thumb, no help at all! Anyways, this worked for me, even though my doctor didn't believe that it would work! A major resource for my research were 2 books, one written by John M. Ellis M.D. & James Presley, titled, "Vitamin B6 The Doctor's Report" copyright 1973 and "The Doctor Who Looked at Hands - Vitamin B6" by John M. Ellis M.D. - copyright 1970.

What about leaning to one side? :')
@ocsfdocs Жыл бұрын
Leaning to the side can certainly help to decompress the area of the spine where the nerves exit the spinal canal to innervate the skin and muscles of the leg. When an individual suffers from a strain/sprain or has nerve irritation it’s not uncommon to lean in a direction to help take pressure off the sensitive nerves/muscles. This can help alleviate the pain/muscle spasm that may be occurring.
@AG77420 Жыл бұрын
My back feels better when I do the opposite, lean it backwards
@ocsfdocs Жыл бұрын
Great point Andrew! Depending on what structure or structures may be irritated/injured flexing or extending the spine may feel better. It would require an evaluation by your doctor to better determine why that may be the case. Spinal stenosis is an example of a conditions that frequently responds positively to leaning forward and flexing the lumbar spine to take pressure off of nerves.
@ctrader6 Жыл бұрын
From the information I have seen, the triggering is caused by some obstruction on the tendon. If the ultra sound gives you the visual, why are you cutting the sleeve/pulley instead of trimming away the obstruction on the tendon? Thanks.
