I think you can find how to remove the lower seat section in my fuel pressure regulator repair video. The back section is held in with two bolts and then it slides up.

Just a tip for anyone doing this, clean the rotor with brake cleaner before putting them on, and also the two 17 mm bolts for the calipers apply a little brake grease on them when reinstalling them.

Hi Matt. One more question. I have a very similar truck camper top. Do you remember what size bolts you used to attach the the rack to the topper? I’m going to build the rack based off of your design. You just saved me at least $400!!!!
@athikerguy4life
@athikerguy4life Жыл бұрын
I used the bolts that held the original feet onto the tracks, so unfortunately I don’t have an exact size for you

I had it on my truck for 3 years, although I did take it off for one winter to make it easier to get the snow off my roof. I had to touch up the bedliner once or twice from branches and whatnot, but otherwise it was great! It’s still sitting in my garage now..

I just priced out the materials for a much more basic version of this rack at Home Depot in Canada….one 10 ‘ price of this strut material is over $100, tax included! All the parts I need for it would cost about 400. $! Nothing at all cheap about it now in Sept. 2023!! The one he made could cost double!! I can get thick aluminum Chanel ..8 ‘ at $35 per piece. Need 3 pieces! Cut one into 4 pieces 2 ‘ each to attach 2 cross members cut to length. Drill some holes, use stainless steel bolts, washers and nuts, glue the rails to my fibreglass truck cap with outside window caulking, put a stainless eyebolt on each end and voila about $200. Seems much better to me! I only want to secure a canoe and perhaps some lumber etc. from time to time!

That’s crazy! Here in the northeast US I can still get the strut material for $38 for 10 feet. Not sure why it’s so crazy in your area.

@@athikerguy4lifeI live on an island (Nfld.). Just about everything we get comes across by ship from the mainland so that explains maybe 20% of the cost as everything is more expensive here. But the difference between what it cost you and me is just crazy!! If I go with the aluminum, it will be based on your idea so thanks for that! I am still looking into options so might find something else!

To get to the lower transmission line is a pain. If you remove the battery and the battery tray (has 3 bolts on a 98) it makes access to the line a lot easier.

I know this is an old video but I was wondering how you slid the A/C condenser out of the guides on the radiator. Others I have talked to said both have to come out together. So the A/C system has to be taken down. Great job by the way.

If I remember correctly, there are plastic clips that hold it on to the radiator that you can just undo.

You can get new pump, regulator, seal, fuel gage sender all for $50 on ebay. Use large channel locks to remove the lock. Dont use wd40 it may damage o-ring over time. Spit on it when putting together or Dawn dish soap.

Good to know! I’m personally a little wary of eBay fuel pumps but at this point these cars aren’t really worth the money to put OEM parts in.

yea I am trying to fix one now. I got for 500. Mice made their winter home in the carb as well.. I found a nice little nest in mine.. I suppose I will avoid the pry bar method..But seriously there was a mouse home in the carb. I am comforted by the fact that this is a common problem.. kinda. I may need a cat. that may help me prevent this problem.

Many thanks! My only issue now is that the regulators i have seen online for my daughter's 2007 Versa cost almost as much and more than fuel pump assemblies with the regulator in them. So confusing...
@athikerguy4life
@athikerguy4life 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah Nissan stopped selling the part separately a while ago, which is unfortunate. I think at the time I did the repair the regulator and o ring cost around $30-40. Now you’re basically forced to replace the entire unit. It’s too bad.
