Wow, the Regenerative Soil Tarot looks so beautiful I might be able to get over the redundancy of the courts, but ‘Paige’ is just too ODD, what? Lol The Haindl Tarot is a favorite of mine, that’s so cool you found those books in the free little library. I have the major and minor arcana books, and they were difficult for me to find affordably at the time. I don’t have the Reader’s Handbook.

@@SecondThoughtsAboutTheMission There are a lot of things I like about the majors but apparently it was made with AI and not properly disclosed, which is too bad. Hi Nicole. I’m a bit late watching your video, but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed this! The craft decadence oracle looks amazing! I’m always looking for an oracle that stands out and has unique keyword. This one does that. Also, I just emailed the creator of the abaton keys. That deck looks amazing too! And you’re right, it is a super reasonable price. And thank you for sharing that there is an online guidebook for the tarot of Persephone‘s Garden. I was not aware of that. And I bought the deck a few months ago. Finally, I had to laugh when you were talking about the soul cats tarot. I am not allowed to have pets in my building either and I miss having a cat terribly! I had not thought about getting a cat deck as a substitution, but now I may just do that 🐈

Im sorry to hear you haven’t been well ❤️‍🩹 Man, I have no idea why I didn’t jump on Persephone’s Garden because I love Waterhouse and Pre-Raphaelites myself. Again, I know I already mentioned this, but I love your rune deck. Your cross-stitch is adorable!!! Love owls. 🦉 I’ve never attempted cross-stitch, I was always too afraid 😂 I’m so happy to hear you’ve enjoyed the new Doctor Who! I was so stoked to learn Russel T Davies was returning (and I heard Murray Gold returned as composer as well?) and then I didn’t watch it, I was too nervous! 😂 I love Jodi Whitaker but I didn’t watch any of the episodes during her run. I’ve watched and own a ton of the classic stories, we collect them, and then all of the reissued series up until season 10. I’ve only watched up through season 9, because I fell in love with Capaldi and wasn’t ready to watch him regenerate 😂 I also felt for me, the way the 9th season wrapped up was actually an ‘ending’ for me. It was just so beautiful. But I’m sure I’ll watch the rest eventually. And yes, Russel T Davies was the showrunner for the 9th Doctor as well. (Sorry for my Doctor Who tangent!)
@NicoleACottageWitch
@NicoleACottageWitch 8 күн бұрын
@@SecondThoughtsAboutTheMission I love a Doctor Who tangent. You listen to musicals right? Just asking because Jonathan Groff is in one of the episodes and his relationship with the Doctor is too adorable. I wish I liked 13 more than I did because I do like Jodie Whittaker, but somehow it just didn’t do it for me. I think it was the writing and the stories she got. But I’m already enjoying Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor. It’s a totally different energy from Capaldi’s era but so much fun. A bit closer to Matt Smith, I think. And yes, Murray Gold is back-he’s made for scoring Doctor Who.

We’ll have to have a good Doctor Who chat sometime! I’m such a geek for it! Yes, I do listen to musicals, and I did see a preview for that episode! My boyfriend pre-pandemic had quite a career with musical theatre so I was lucky to see countless broadway shows here in Boston. I agree, I don’t think it was Jodi’s fault at all, it was the writing. My take was that Chibnall’s aim was to revert back to the sci-fi/historical based stories from the 60s through the 80s, and while I love and collect those stories, the show had ‘evolved’. My mom really liked the seasons with 13, which is cute. I can see a lot of people enjoying it if they weren’t aware of the show beforehand. I’ve heard good things about Ncuti Gatwa as an actor although i don’t think I’ve seen him in anything. Anyway, I’m sure I’ll like him.
@NicoleACottageWitch
@NicoleACottageWitch 8 күн бұрын
@@SecondThoughtsAboutTheMission that’s interesting. I hadn’t read up on Chibnall’s intentions for the show and I haven’t watched many of the classic episodes. Maybe I’ve just gotten too used to the reboot to appreciate them. I’d love to be closer to broadway. I’ve been there once and saw a couple of things but otherwise it’s cast recordings for me! I know occasionally touring shows come through Canada but I haven’t seen many.

Moby Dick is probably my all time favourite. I’ve done several new operas like Everest and Filumena that are pretty cool. I like the music to Carmen but that and Butterfly kept trying to kill me whenever I stage managed them! Everything that could go wrong did! Mozart is pretty reliably fun though I don’t feel the need to do the Magic Flute again. It’s much less stressful just operating the surtitles. Oh and Dutchman was a lot of fun too.

All signs are pointing me to Moby Dick lately! 😂 honestly, I have to familiarize myself with the opera, that’s so interesting!! (I’ve been excited to read the book for a few years now and keep waiting for the perfect time, I think todays the day). Yeah … there’s some stupid librettos out there 😂 Love Butterfly, and Magic Flute and Dutchman are favorites too, saw productions of those here in Boston. It’s difficult choosing favorites, I also love the operas of Rossini, Donizetti, Monteverdi … my favorite from the ‘contemporary’ category would be the Philip Glass triptych: Einstein on the Beach, Satyagraha and Akhenaten, (Akhenaten being my first choice because I listen to it constantly!)

@@SecondThoughtsAboutTheMission I should listen to some Philip Glass opera. I’ve only listened to his piano music and love it. I remember glancing at the surtitles during Lucia Di Lammermoor (also very good and based on the Walter Scott novel), and thinking “oh this is why it’s in Italian!” Some of the lyrics were so ridiculous in English! Oh and that reminds me, I also love the opera Manon by Massenet but I haven’t listened to it in a long time. And yes, the book Moby Dick is so beautiful! I do usually plant herbs and vegetables together. Usually some herbs like basil go with tomatoes because their roots don’t need as much space as the tomatoes and then chives go with strawberries to keep the bugs away but beyond that I haven’t gotten much into companion planting. Mostly it’s just a matter of necessity on a balcony! The reddish flowers were peony leaves from some grocery store flowers that now have a second life as mulch. Though I do have some purple oxalis out there, but it’s struggling. The plant rescue was a lot of fun and very interesting but also a bit sad because that land is about to get bulldozed.

Carceral Humanitarianism sounds sick A few others also caught my eye especially the myths of Scotland I think that one I have or has been on my list

People have been sleeping on the myths of Scotland. I like knowing the Greek myths but I think prefer the Irish and Scottish I’ve read so far.

I had similar thoughts on Master and Margarita: I did really enjoy it, but I’ve read a bunch of Russian lit and I didn’t consider it the best of the best as the Russian who recommended it to me did (we are not friends anymore, but it’s not Bulgakov’s fault) 😂 love Chekhov but I haven’t read The Black Monk! Sounds like I need to get my hands on a copy. I think I remember reading that Oroonoko was based on a true story but I’m not sure. It’s weird I haven’t read Madame Bovary, but there’s so many books to read 😫 I read a bunch of Gertrude Stein a few years ago and I find her fascinating. I’m going to look up Blind Owl! 🦉

So many books to read! And I want to read them all! It’s an ongoing problem. I definitely need to read more Chekhov. I read some of his plays ages ago for my undergrad but I’ve been sleeping on his shorting fiction. I’d say Stein is up next but I’m also reading about 7 books right now and really need to finish at least one of them first!

@@NicoleACottageWitch it’s a definite problem for me too. I was reading 7 or 8 books recently myself … finished a couple recently so I’m making progress but yeah lol I read Chekhov plays for a theatre history course years ago and that’s how I discovered him, LOVED those courses. I forgot to mention: I think it’s cool you read the books which inspired operas. I haven’t read many actually; Eugene Onegin by Pushkin is the only one I can recall at the moment, but I read the librettos which accompany the operas I own. I love opera! 🥰
