I had a 72 240z back in around 83 when I was 19. It had a broken frame / body under the fire wall...and yet it was still cool as hell driving around at that age. I should have kept all the cars I owned back then lol!

Thank you for sharing, do you know what year the 2.4 engine was offered domestically in Japan? I see lots of conflicting ideas. I want to know if the 2.4 engine was only offered on the longer wheelbase 2+2s.

1:12 that’s interesting it seems that the z was supposed to have a different engine from the standard single over head cam l24. It’s ironic because Nissan made a new head for the l series with dohc setup. Do you have any future details about this engine and if it’s related to the 2000gtrs engine or if it is that engine that’s in this z

comparing a classic mustang to a classic datsun... these datsun's are so much easier to work on. I really like some things the manufacture did to simplify a lot of components
Anyone know what that flag at the very end of the video was? Something to do with Nissan or maybe just the video production company? Reverse image search got me nothing.

Bless Agent K! Unlike the increasingly cash limited United Kingdom sports car engineers at Triumph and Jaguar, the Nissan engineers forced themselves to design the S30 to beat emerging US crash and emission and durability legislation from day one. Big difference. Factory Hitachi CD carbs that really worked.🥝✔️

that British penny-pinching engineering also gave us the terrible Triumph suspension designs.

A 240z racecar i was involved with had the same full frontal crash into the side of a hill during a rally at 70km per hour, body damage to car was the same as pre production crash test, both driver and passenger had racing seat belts and car had racing roll cage from windscreen back, both driver and passenger released from hospital the next day, yes the crush zone worked like it should and the car was re build with new panels from windscreen forward, still on the road now powered by vh45de

I played this game at Chuck E. Cheese's in late 1982 on a school field trip. I was only 6-1/2 at the time and not tall enough to play on my own, so my assistant teacher worked the gas pedal and gear shift while I steered standing on a milk crate. I did not know how to steer very well at the time, so I kept zig-zagging across the road and hitting just about every white post in sight. I must have seen every single crash word in huge letters and heard the crash sound (which sounds exactly like a bomb exploding) at least a dozen times. Later, one of my classmates (who was just a couple weeks younger than me but was as big as a 10-year-old girl) played this game like a pro, navigating all of the tight curves at maximum speed and not crashing even once. She obviously was tall enough to play without assistance; I did not reach the "minimum height" until I was almost eight.
