I did the same thing you did in 2004 and built my own pc and moved from console gaming. Crazy overwhelming the first month. But the valuable skills I learned from troubleshooting, maintenance and tinkering is huge. This was back in 2004, so internet was still not amazing in a lot of ways. Searching forums was a pain in the ass (still are, but google is a lot better at scanning forums).

It's Lunar Lake, not Arrow lake. Arrow Lake are the desktop chips that we'll see a bit later on

Hello. I want to buy the Legion 5i, I just can't decide between the Legion 5i version and the Pro version. I want it for both gaming and general use. Now in my country there is a sale on the Legion i5 (core i9-14900HX/RAM 32GB/SSD-1TB) for €1853 and the Pro version with the same equipment for around €150 more. I'm also wondering if the laptop cooling is adequate with the Legion 5i. What is more worthwhile? Thank you.

The Pro has better cooling, slightly better design/parts, and more ports. You can get mostly the same performance from them both, depending on how you spec them out. But if you want more ports and better cooling, go with the Pro. But the Pro is slightly heavier. I hope that helps.

Got it, returning it. That screen detachment mechanism is built to fail/break/malfunction. And what a silly design choice to not allow the screen to be attached to the keyboard facing up, the way a tablet ought to be used. Terrible, shallow keyboard. A great concept marred, as usual, by inexplicable design and engineering choices.

This is one review I am still perplexed by....I am still working on it....and they just lowered the price on it....so now I have to rethink everything....the price is now $2,100. Down from $3500....it is a confusing product. I agree about the keyboard...

How do you feel about the build quality in comparison to the Zenbook S14 and slim 7x, remembering that the Zenbook is a couple of hundred Euros more expensive? How close is this laptop really to a 14 inch laptop, I need it to be portable enough to bring it around every day at university? As I am a student, I am really unsure about the size and weight, whether that difference (Zenbook vs. slim 7i) will bog me down on campus. Until now, I have enjoyed the size 14 inch ultrabooks ex. a thinkpad x1 carbon gen 6.

Out of those three, the S14 is the best in build quality and looks. The slim 7x is second. Aura is fairly close to the 14" footprint but it is noticeably bigger. But I think a good size and weight to be taking around campus. Out of the three laptops you mention....the S14 and the slim 7x are the smallest and lightest. The 7x and S14 are very comparable in that category. Sorry for the delay in response. I have been busy. Thanks for watching!

Can you do a comparison between zenbook s14 and this laptop screen brightness? I'm off buying zenbook, because the screen even though it's OLED seems like dull on the brightness, I've seen all the reviews saying that Asus has to up the brightness on the screens they put on their laptops, Lenovo seems to do better on the brightness level which then helps to see things easier. Specially knowing 14 inches is small, a better standard should be 14.5 inches from now on, which again lenovo is doing on the snapdragon and amd versionsnsnd the new lunar lake

The S14 was already sent back to ASUS, I could not keep that for very long. But, from memory, this Lenovo Aura is brighter. The ASUS has a nicer display in terms of colors and black levels, but this one is brighter. Thanks for watching!

I'll have tom check with my reviewer, he's no longer writing for me anymore but I will reach out. I can say that I reviewed the very first EGO snow blower and it did decently well with that snowplow pack at the end of the drive. This video shows a little bit of that towards the end. I agree the colour of the Aura one is bland. You can loosen the hinge by unscrewing the nut a bit to make it open with one hand.

Would you be able to compare the Zenbook S 16 lunar lake version vs strix point version? The Zenbook S 16 is the only model that will ship in both platforms, it will provide the possibility of a perfect comparison between both.

I am considering purchasing a secondary laptop that is lightweight for travel but still performs well for technical tasks. I have thought about the Surface Laptop 7, but I am also looking at Lunar Lake laptops because I intend to primarily run Linux on it. It's unclear whether Lunar Lake is a viable option since, beyond their marketing materials, there is limited information on their real-life task performance. Is your opinion of Zenbook s14 not ready to include it in the top or just doesn't make it top 3?

Hi, thanks for the comment and question. I haven't been able to say much about Lunar Lake because of embargoes....and that's why I took down my S 14 videos.....the best I can say is....between Snapdragon, AMD Ryzen Ai9 and Lunar Lake.....it is competitive. As for running technical tasks and Linux, I don't know what your workflow and programs are but....I do know that Snapdragon may have issues with x86 apps, even with Prism. And Linux I know they are working on compatibility but I don't know how compatible it is. One last thing I can say about Lunar Lake....If the Surface 7 had a Lunar Lake chip in it....I would buy that laptop. For me, half the choice is in what the laptop design and what the hardware looks like. But I understand that not all people care as deeply about design and aesthetics as I do....I would probably sacrifice a little performance to buy the laptop that looks nicer. LOL

I want to know if you experience the thermal problems in the amd version with the 370 and if the updates solve it. Also, if the intel version have thermal problems. I did not experience any thermal issues with the S 16, and I performed all updates as they came in. That laptop is going back to ASUS soon. I haven't used the Intel enough to report on thermal issues. But again, my use case may be very different from others. I don't do a lot of heavy computing or gaming.....the heaviest thing I do is light video editing. And thank you very much for your comment and encouragement. I'm learning to ignore the toxic trolls....it takes time. LOL CHEERS!

@@DeveshSharma-t9u Oh gosh! I don't use After Effects and I hardly use those features within DaVinci. I wish I could answer that question with a clarity, but I can't. From the documentation, ASUS seems to show that it will work fine. But I don't want to say yes, because it's not how I tested. Thanks!

Wow! Thank you! I was expecting it to perform better than AMD on the battery subject. Given the fact that you were the user of both systems S16 and S14 I suspect your experience is close to the reality in terms of battery performance compared to other chips.

Most welcome. Stay tuned for my final review. These battery numbers were my first run, things may change a bit as I use the laptop for longer. But to be honest, the AMD, new Intel and new Snapdragon chips are all seriously the best in a very long time. In terms of battery, Apple now has some Windows competition.
