I’m have a 2022 tlx and it’s having trouble with acceleration, the car just starts shaking on not accelerating when I press the gas. I don’t know what to do and my (salvage) dealer doesn’t know what the issue may be. What do you think? And I also had pebble hits on my windshield when I would listen to my music, it’s not stopping either smh!

Front Wheel Drive, unfortunately not equipped with SH-AWD. When I was picking this car it was just after an accident and needed to replace my previous car and was originally going for a Honda Accord 2.0T but since I had gotten my RE license my father recommended to get an Acura equivalent because of the prices being the same for the A-SPEC PACKAGE and being a better look since “glamor” is an unfortunate thing in the Miami RE market. I had 0 idea of anything to do with Acura outside of older Hondas that used Acura badging in the North American market. Didn’t know the TLX existed or the TLX Type S. It’s still been awesome. Very fortunate and happy I have this baby. I wish I had known and I may have gotten the SH-AWD and only other feature I feel I’m missing out on is the Active Dampers and Rear Heated Seats, maybe the auto folding mirrors but that doesn’t really bother me. However, I’ve had the unfortunate reality of dealing with slow leaks and potholes so maybe it’s good I didn’t get the AWD. I’ve heard SH-AWD is fantastic and that it completely changes the driving dynamic so I’d love to test it out one day.

Glad I could help! A major issue I’ve been having as of recent so I will be making an updated video, lots of funny downshifting between 3rd and 2nd gears. It feels awful at times and I don’t know if I just didn’t get lucky with my transmission since it is a DCT as far as I’ve been told it shouldn’t feel grindy. Doesn’t feel like I’m grinding gears but it feels like the computer is miscalculating automatic downshifts. And infotainment has been slow as shit at times. The second I turn on the car I immediately press the auto start stop off button and press the Acura individual drive mode that I have with comfort steering wheel, sport engine, and that seems to help a bit to get those animations and loading up out of the way. I know people say waiting for revs to drop is stupid but waiting for it to drop to 800 for me seems to be the best bet for a smooth ride wise and infotainment wise.

I would reach out to AcuraHonda or a AcuraHonda Dealership. I don’t know what the hell happened with the early 2021 models but it seems like a lot of early buyers are having lots of different issues. I hope everything gets resolved.

@TastyRidesАй бұрын
So I believe I added a correction to this video or it may be in one of the shorter clips I uploaded later on. WHP is much lower than I claimed but as far as I ‘understand’, crank HP could be bouncing around the 300 mark? I was very confused when looking at the graph and having people explain it to me back and fourth on comments and forums. Engine is definitely capable of 400HP and I’ve seen people push 500HP but with a LOT more supporting mods.

I could be wrong but you’re probably not around the 300hp mark. AHC Garage did a full ‘21 A-Spec build with dyno testing. With rv6 downpipe, k&n filter, and ktune their best number was 257hp. They also tried it with the same mods but an open air box (more similar to your k&n open air intake) and made only 248hp. Fully stock they made 240hp on dyno. Surprised by the phearable tune though… quicker pickup at 29:30 is definitely noticeable and clearly spins more as well. if you’re ever interested in some custom tuning, reach out to DRob from Innovative Motorworks. He tuned an A-spec that made 360hp but type r turbo upgrade/e30, the whole 9 yards. good luck with the build bro. just wanted to pass that info along.
@tlx.2 ай бұрын
Edit: After reviewing the Phearable Stage 3 tune on their site, their dyno sheet said it made 300hp 357tq on a stock TLX. So I may be wrong in my statement that you’re not at the 300hp mark. Are you running the stage 3 phearable tune? I wonder what AHC did wrong that they were only able to make 257hp with added mods and ktuner. I assume better tunes have been developed over time, hence the stage 3.
@TastyRides2 ай бұрын
@tlx. I could be incorrect but according to ktuner.com/2021tlx/ the Stage 2 tune hits 300 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque to the wheel
@TastyRides2 ай бұрын
Oh maybe I’m reading the graph wrong. You could be right as this could only be pushing 250hp and 300lb-ft of torque, my bad

I’m planning on doing the Stage 3 tune but most likely next year
@tlx.2 ай бұрын
@@TastyRides Yeah, the graphs can be a bit confusing in addition to the written info they provide. I’d look into supporting mods for Stage 3 tune if you plan on doing it next year. Not sure if the stock turbo can handle all that boost. Glad you are happy with your tune on there now though, seems like a lot of fun compared to driving stock. Good luck and hopefully everything holds up good for you, I will definitely be following along with your channel🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

@@TastyRides Yes, but if you have a portable one, would it cause those issues? Or is that a sign of the cd skipping?
@TastyRides2 ай бұрын
@@LDEIB the only crackling sound that I've had issues with are due to the faulty FARKA connectors which recently got a mass recall since a lot of people have had issues with them. I'm not sure about using a portable one, that could depend on the player and cable, especially since the A-SPEC at least is a much stiffer vehicle you might feel a lot more bumps and in turn cause the CD to play incorrectly. Hope this helps!

I honestly have thought about going back for the last gen V6 type s at times. The second gen is such a nice vehicle but if you just wanna go for the power train and money I think last gen is a good buy unless you find a good price for a late 21 or after model year type s. I think there might be a misunderstanding about the warranty: this model has a four-year 48,000 mile factory bumper-to-bumper warranty. Just because it is Acura certified doesn’t mean that warranty goes away and gets replaced with new terms , there may be an additional benefits from the CPO warranty extension, but the original warranty transfers to the new owner. Now, of course we’re coming up to the end of 2024 so you might not have much original warranty left (the date starts on the day the car was originally sold to the first owner which of course could be sometime in 2020 even ) But don’t hesitate to use that warranty… The only thing that doesn’t transfer is the rust warranty . You should be absolutely aggressive about getting that stuff fixed.

can confirm. 2nd owner of a 2021 TLX and took it to the dealership day after I bought it for a blown speaker. covered under warranty no questions asked.

By the way, you asked in the video whether or not you had the technology package… If you have the ASPEC, you are a trim level above Technology. I had a lot of more detailed things to share with you, but it looks you tube didn’t like how long it was or whatever and I can’t find the post now. There’s a lot of really great answers to the questions you have in the forums online… Look around for them. I can’t mention the websites by name or this post will probably get deleted. It’s the name of the car. And another one is the brand.

Are those issues fixed for the 2023 tlx Aspec model? Especially the brakes. Also what aftermarket interior LED lighting do you recommend because the stock is not very bright and I would like something that is not a pain in the ass to install and is brighter and looks overall better.
@MurderMostFowl3 ай бұрын
You can control the brightness in the “ vehicle settings” when the car is in park. I mean it’s not going to get crazy bright, but you have to decide what looks good to you. The TLX is going to lean towards subtle and actually useful rather than bold. If you want something that looks like ground effects in the car, get a civic SI and embrace a much much larger aftermarket

Have had the TLX for about 2 weeks now, definitely feel the weight of the car but feels so planted to the ground, I'll accept the mpg hit
@MrHellothisiscool5 ай бұрын
On the topic of Shawd and adaptive dampers. I think had you known about it Shawd definitely would've been ideal. As is, it is still an upgrade over an accord 2.0 so no reason to feel bad. For adaptive dampers you can't get that unless you get the advance package. You lose a lot of the cosmetic benefits of aspec if you get the advance and from watching reviews people say that the suspension is too soft overall compared to the aspec even on sport mode. So most people just forego the active dampers unless you get the type s
