Lyme disease is a tick-borne bacterial infection; if you're out in nature and get bitten by an infected tick, the disease will cause flu-like symptoms and (usually) a distinctive ringed rash that looks like a bullseye. There's a short on his channel titled "This is what a day looks like for me" which shows some of the treatments he underwent Ren just recently finished treatment and has returned briefly to the UK -- over the summer he'll perform at the Secret Garden Party, and probably a few other festivals -- before moving to the U.S. for the next stage of his career, interspersed with shorter treatment visits to Canada. Hope that provides the context for understanding why his health crops up so often in his lyrics! Quite a lot of it was written while he was still in the thick of it, before he knew what had caused it and whether he would ever get better, and last year's "Sick Boi" album was deliberately centered about this theme. But he also has a wide variety of music that has nothing to do with illness.
