It would have been helpful to have provided a picture of the male, so we could see what the fry would grow up to look like.

Is that blue acara?
@Beb_73
@Beb_73 Жыл бұрын
No, this is the nannacara anomala as stated in the title. The one you call the blue acara is the andinoacara pulcher (and there's also the electric blue acara...). I know using the latin name of fish is like learning a new language, but if everyone speaks the same language, there's no confusion possible. Oh and this one is the smaller version with the blue acara being the biggest and the electric blue a hybrid of the two aforementioned fish.

Well what do you expect in such a tiny tank?! You shouldn't keep them in a tank that size, it isn't big enough for anything other than a couple of guppies.

@kadinaator
@kadinaator 3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately peace lily and ribbon plant are not aquatic plants - these will eventually rot under water. You can use them in the tank if only the roots are in water, otherwise they will start causing problems.

You might be having too much light. Try reducing the time when light is on. 10-14 hrs should be good.

Thank you for your tip. But if you watch my part 3 of this video series, I have fixed it without reducing time of light :) and my time for light is only 8 hrs.

are they really that agressive? or only with other males? I would like to keep a pair of them in my 55 Gallon aquarium, do you think i could keep them with tankmates if they have enough space?
@aquasound353
@aquasound353 3 жыл бұрын
So sorry for a late reply. Yes they are aggressive. They can be aggressive with each other, usually male attacking female if they are not peacefully paired. They will eat shrimps or small tetras or even guppies. I recommend something like Congo tetras, if you want to keep them with tank mates. FYI, I never had tank mates when it comes down to Adoketas.

Absolutely beautiful! Just one quick question, how about the oxygen supply in the tank? Without airstone/filter how does that work? Will the oxygen from the plants be enough?
@aquasound353
@aquasound353 3 жыл бұрын
Yes oxygen from the plants, but you can't keep many fishes when you are setting up a no filter, no water change fish tank. Very limited fishes are essential.

No they are not covered with fungus :P When they are covered with fungus, it is hard not to notice. Eggs are covered in white FUZZY fungus. You can see them in my other video. I'll link to that video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnKQXoZjf89jaNE

Hells yeah. I'm thinking of giving mine back to the LFS. I have 3 female and couldn't get hold of a male. The females on their own are hell to deal with and I have them in a 45gal with heaps of plants and hides for the other fish. Might possibly put them in a smaller tank on their own.
