I was born 1952.. Ewell Court House and gardens was where I spent a lot of time, I lived in Gaddesden road prefabs until we got moved to Scotts Farm road around the late 50s..the river Hogsmill was a child's dream, fantastic memories.....Saturday Morning Pictures at the ABC Rembrandt Stoneleigh, fish and chips in Mannings on the way home..I went to West Ewell School Ruxley Lane, before we moved up to London 1962..anyway love to get a reply from you.

Hello thfcccfht, so nice to read your comments, my friend and schoolmate Duggie Drew lived in the prefabs in Gadesden Road not sure though of his number now but it was close and opposite to the field , and footpath through to Ruxley Lane., that field is now a housing estate. I used to call for him on my way to Ewell Court from my house . Like you I started school at Ruxley Lane infants and primary school although 12 years before you, It’s still a school today. Ewell court is still mostly quiet and peaceful I was also there visiting again on the 19 July 2022 when the highest temperature ever recorded in Britain happened we found shade under the huge trees.

Epworth was the home of the Wesleys. Charles wrote many hymns including 'Hark the herald angels sing' and his brother John preached the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ all over the the United Kingdom. Through his preaching, a great movement was started which changed the course of history in this country and saved us from a similar fate to the revolution in France. Sadly, as a nation, we have turned our back on God and the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. As a result, we find ourselves in a moral maze without any positive directive. Turn in repentance and the Lord will have mercy upon us and save our nation. Read God's Word, the Bible.

Steve was such a great golf commentator, one of the best such a wonderful voice. I used to love watching golf on Eurosport back in the day. Me and my Dad wrote to Steve at his PO box in Reading, My Dad passed in 2000 and I emailed Steve again when he commentated on The Open 2010 red button channel on BBC and he remembered my name and said I wrote to him.in his Eurosport days. Such a gentleman. I have some VHS recordings of Eurosport golf coverage from 1995 - 1996 with Steve commentating and I still watch them today. RiP Steve

The Hammerbeam Roof of Westminster Hall was built in Farnham in 1395 on the instructions of Richard 11. It was built on a frame in Farnham Castle. It was then dismantled and taken by cart to Weybridge then by barge to Westminster and put together again! It was constructed of 600 tons of Oak. 200 came from Stoke d'Abernon, 200 from the Abbot of St Albans and 200 from Farnham Great Park.

Nice to see the market in full swing - even though I live within walking distance, I almost always miss it because I'm out working. The road is an important trunk route between the Midlands and Swindon, in particular, hence the lorries passing through. At least they are much, much quieter and cleaner than they used to be.
