I know Pilsen and TOS Kurim very well, and this is a large machine. That said it isn’t the largest machine (VTL) in the world. Waldrich Coburg has made 16+ meter vertical machines. Nice video though as I like these videos of large machine tools

Do you first cast the motor housing and then proceed to machining?

Yes, the motor is from a casting. We then process the workpiece across the TOSHULIN VTL to produce all the machined features without moving to secondary operations. This saves time, floorspace and cost while also increasing the workpiece accuracy by combining various operations during the same setup.

For one ram like that better using 55 mm slide and bearings

You are correct Fabio th they are size 55 bearings. These are caged roller bearings. Each guideway is sliding on 3 caged roller bearing packs for full Z axis support. The size 55 is perfect for this application, but we do also offer larger bearings and hydrostatics if the application dictates the need.
