8 ^4 is 2^12. Which offers a much simpler path. 256 is 2 ^8, times 4 is 1024 times 2 is 2048

Yes you are correct. But I think this a Layman’s method for which explanation is simple, non-technical and requires no specialist knowledge. Log function may be used in more optimised way, but this is all correct, Agree with your explanation

There's a lot of unnecessary details here... 4^(x-2)=15 log_4(4^(x-2))= log_4(15) x-2 = log_4(15) x = log_4(15) + 2 Now if you want we can mess about with which base we would like the log to be in or if we want to do log 15 or split it up as 3 and 5 but why? To what end? Let's do what you did in the video in less steps just to show it? log_4(15) = log_2(15)/log_2(4) = log_2(15)/2 = ½(log_2(3) + log_2(5)) = ½log_2(3) + ½log_2(5) Really, what are you trying to teach here? Wouldn't a video about logs and exponents being inverses be more useful? Or a video on why the laws of logarithms work? 😢
