I have gotten into the habit of drinking coffee when I arrive to my house after a long and exhausted work day.

I do have a car, but I prefer to ride my bike to get exercise. "Do" is an auxiliary verb in the advanced usage here. "Have" is the main verb and "do" is the auxiliary, always before the main verb He does run 50 Km every day (main verb: run) They do talk very loudly (main verb: talk) Did you go to the store? (main verb: go) Does she do her homework on the weekend (main verb: do) There are many auxilliary verbs, and you probably many of them already.
