Saw this live on television. Poor Charlie Zink. A game I’ll never forget.

I loved this team! The amount of veteran depth (Jones, Chavez, and Ibanez) was awesome. Not having Mo for pretty much the entire year and Gardner banged up, but still fending off Baltimore for the division was great!Meanwhile, Jeter was also having one of the best seasons of his career (until the broken ankle 😔). Quality rotation, deep bullpen, and deep lineup. Just incredible 👍👍

He kept doing the same thing the day he entered the game, launch home runs and get on base. He became unstoppable.

I'm sorry, but that play by Alex Rodriguez at the 8:59 mark of this video does not get nearly the credit that it deserves. Yes, it's overshadowed by Jeter's great catch and dive into the stands, but that was an unbelievable play that A-Rod made. The diving stop was good enough, but tagging the bag showed phenomenal baseball instincts, and the throw was incredible. Say what you want about the guy, but he was such a great talent.

August 9th, 2005. Was at the game, but couldn't see him from our seats. A LOT of the stadium knew something was happening but clueless until after. Saw Jeter go into the crowd and make the out vs Boston too. Pre Arod tickets weren't sky high.

There have been many collisions in MLB but no collision was more brutal than Carlos Beltran and Mike Cameron that was the most brutal collision in MLB history for sure

This was basically the end for the 2005 Mets, who were in wild card contention. Cameron, a GG CF in his own right, had moved to RF to accommodate the signing of Beltran. But he still had those ball hawk skills of a CF, which is why they both dove for it. This ended Cameron's year, and he'd be traded for Xavier Nady in the offseason. 2005 is a year of what-if, as it was the only time they had Pedro, Beltran, Reyes, Wright while still having Mike Piazza.

This wasn't a playoff matchup, but it did take Boston from 1.5 out to 6.5 out with only over a month left. They never recovered and missed the playoffs. This was essentially an elimination series.

This year 2024 it's a real shame that the Yankees blew the World Series because of their own mistakes. The Yankees have what it takes to win, but they messed it up for themselves in the most important games of the year

Bonds is only player with 500HR/500SB. It seems unimaginable to swing on top of the plate like that unless you have an insane understanding of the game, plus he played insane outfield for most of his career. One of the most efficient swings in baseball. Towering over the plate like that is learned and strategic. I'd like to see you swing your hands like that, especially as a lefty. If steroids make you do that then do a scientific study. Admit him to the hall or laugh. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest players that ever lived.
