I have 40 nice leather belts on marketplace. I’ve marked them down and marked them down and I’ve had zero interest. Also, I have my husband’s grandfathers beautiful ties from the 40s. These things are gorgeous. I’m going to start eBay and the first of the year because I have so many things to get rid of but as far as marketplace you can’t give this stuff away.

How does everyone else get to ship theirs for $9.99 and eBay wants to charge $60-$100 for me?!
@khinekhine6132 ай бұрын
It is ridiculous that thrift stores in Denver ( i assume) mark up that high for a tie. They should all be 2 bucks. When nobody buys them, they will end up in land fill.

I’m certain this guy has been re-selling enough to know this, but anybody else who is new to reselling, make sure you look around and learn how to authenticate Gucci (or other luxury brand) ties before you ever list them! You can have your whole account, paused, or sometimes even deactivated for selling fakes… but you should definitely not let that stop you from learning how to authenticate them yourself and list them once you know they are real.

Vegetable tan leather is very desirable. It is much less common than chromexcel. Both are the names of how the leather is processed.

Great video! The tooled leather belts sell great for me. Trump ties can bring good $ if you find the ones from the Signature Collection.

Even the cheap ( non popular ) ones , wouldn’t it still be profitable to bundle them as a multipack of assorted ties and sell them that way ?

The 10 is the amount of bounce the wedge has which you HAVE to be accurate with . Golfers will tear you apart if they think they are getting a deal on something and all of a sudden something that seems so silly to a lot becomes more than just a headache for both parties . I’m 39 have worked in golf since 15 and trust me. Take the time to learn these things and it’s easy . In a couple of hours you’ll understand why

FYI. Tra FAL gar. Like the square in London where the statue of King George IV gets soiled by all the pigeons. Hermes is Air MAY. And Yves Saint Laurent is pronounced Eve San LorAWN. I know. I’m one of THOSE people. Sorry. Sure appreciate the offer.
@katherinelarini85149 ай бұрын
I used to pronounce Hermes as Air May, but I watched a video on pronouncing French designers and they said you pronounce it as Air mess with the ss pronounced really hard that makes it sound almost like zz... I'm one of THOSE people too - lol...

Great finds and lots of info shared, thank you! This week I found a brand new with tags/stickers StarbucksxStanley 20oz, for $6.99 Canadian. I was very excited wasn't sure if I was keeping or selling. Checked out and as I was walking to car it fell out of my bundle and it smashed to the ground hitting the bottom edge and dented and actually cracked a little, probably just the outside finsih but UGH!!!! Decision made then and there that it was clearly my new water bottle! LOL Cheers!

I think I am using some other ebay, and not the one where ties and belts sell well LOL. I have tons of designer ties left from my late uncle, so I checked sell thru rate, it VERY low.
@jimmymcthrifty11 ай бұрын
Yes, sell through rate is slower on ties than belts. If you price them right though they will sell.
@togetherrrr11 ай бұрын
@@jimmymcthrifty sold ties are very low price, .99 - 5$ max, with some rare exceptions. Not sure if it worth time to list them for low. My local thrift store sells them by packs, 20 ties for 99 cent a package, some packages I see for $1.99 for some reason. Would be nice if they really be a good sale items, but they are not. Good for you if you find those are being good seller for you. Very nice ))

Any tips (or video) on techniques of sifting through ties quickly and efficiently? Do you grab a handful and sift? It seems daunting to not lose your place or get tangled in the row of ties.
@jimmymcthrifty11 ай бұрын
You're right, sifting through is the worst part. I do grab a handful at a time and start at the back of a row. I then turn them so I can see the back.
@dtanner711 ай бұрын
@jimmymcthrifty back to front is a great idea. I've been doing front to back and I will do back to front now. Thanks for the tip!
