I got into the Fall during lockdown. Despite being from Manchester and being into punk /alternative record buying since 1978 , they had never really appealed to me, apart from the odd song. I found that I liked them up until around 1990. Bend Sinister being my favourite LP. I was also amused to discover how much they mentioned other musicians in their lyrics.

Hi Ash. Just discovered your channel and have subscribed. Don't have all the R.G. studio albums but, of the ones I own, my order would be : 1. Photo Finish. 2. Top Priority. 3. Calling Card. 4. Tattoo. 5. Deuce. 6. Self titled. 7. Defender. I'll be working through your other videos in next few weeks.

I bought Phaedra, my first Tangerine Dream album, 3 weeks ago on CD with bonus 2018 remixes from Steven Wilson. I gave it away brand new. Why because there is absolutly nothing going on. Nothing happens at all.

The live albums were original compositions and they did a large amount of music for films. (

Nice to see this video. I saw them in 1970 at the Glastonbury Town Hall, supported by the Pink Fairies. Then again, in 1980 at the Lewisham Odeon, with Ginger Baker on drums. I'm now revisiting their music and discovering their more recent albums. Great stuff.

I recall that JT's first * 7-Single * / 45 rpm was incorrectly labelled as JETHRO TOE ! Stand Up was my first JT album and remains as one of the favourites ( As does the traditional line-up ). The outstretched left hand of Ian on the rear cover is kinddov significant .... Go count the number of fingers on his hands on the front of this most unique cover .... ! 🤙🥁🎸🎵🎶

Grave New World - what an effing great album. Blew me away back when I acquired it in '72. I can honestly say it made a huge impact upon me. I still play my original vinyl. Good call on the top choice.

Great video. For me, there’s always been one answer: The Queen is Dead. 10/10, all killer, no filler. A song for every mood, emotion, and scenario in a young adult’s life. In fact, the older the you get, the more the lyrics resonate with you. It simply never gets old.

I disagree with almost all of these choices but that's the thing with Hawkwind fans they all seem to like different elements. My top pick would be PXR5 but that is probably very influenced by that being the first one I bought. A punt on a cheap second hand record by a band I knew very little about, I wasn't expecting too much but overnight I became a compulsive buyer of second hand Hawkwind LPs that were in abundance due to them having become very unfashionable at the time. Seen them live loads of times and never been dissapointed.

Hey Ash. New subscriber. The " Real Groovy Records " thumb-nail drew my eye, I'm a record collector from New Zealand as well. I find it really difficult to navigate all the Auckland record shops, but I do have a long history of record digging there for many years. I went to the latest " Real Groovy " in Auckland recently, but mainly use their on-line. On record store day I picked up the RSD latest from Pearl Jam and also a re-release of the obscure album from " Gandalf ". Nice shout-out to the stores in Auckland.
