Thank you for this detailed video, it's the best I can find from someone who has actually used the dash before making a review. In fact after watching I have decided not to buy one, this is due to you saying some distances and fuel measures are incorrect. It won't bother some people, but would drive me insane. I'm sure it can be fixed with an update to the software though.

Glad this video helped, tbh my miles range is still a bit iffy however it tells you quantity of fuel left in the tank, which is how I work it out. Other than that it’s solid & a really good upgrade

u said this has the ea888 engine but all the R's came with the ea113, has it been converted? got a 2.0 tsi myself which is the ea888

EA888 is the 1.8T & 2.0T, the facelift Rs came with a EA113 engine same as the MK5 GTI.

FML, glad my EA888 gen 2 doesn’t have that extra port injection, just straight direct injection. Great channel, have a 2010 Scirocco myself, taken so much stuff apart fixing it over the last 3 years.

I would always recommend 2014 vw scirocco R-line blue motion with pan roof. 2.0 tdi it looks amazing with face lift and R body kit. (R-line) £20 road tax a year, And extremely hoid miles per gallon. The R version is just so much money to maintain, It's ridiculous.

All depends what you’re after wether you get a TDI or TSI or R. I like sound & not too fussed about mpg yet so petrol was always going to be the best option for me. However if you’re doing a lot of motorway & want something really reliable than the 2.0 TDI is perfect. But I do wish I had a sunroof/pan roof a lot

Hello mate, I have been enjoying your Scirocco content, I am also modifying my Scirocco on my channel, I also used to have a Celica GT4, a 185 Carlos Sainz, I had mine at 20 too, although I sold that car years ago now, so I'm interested to see how your one goes.

Always check the basics beforehand I:e oil, tyre pressure, waters. Just basic checks. Make sure that the oils not like tar & it’s clear. I assume it’s been in someone’s garage for a while for 60K? Mine has just passed 62K & been sat in some gentlemen’s collection for a long period of time.

You are so fortunate to have one here in France they are 40000€ for a good one I might look at Japan 🇯🇵 import one or UK 🇬🇧 ☺️ I have a red st202 6th gen since July 2020 and gradually and slowly restoring it already the mechanical side of things my good daily I have a few mechanical fixing to do and the biggest is bodywork.

An aftermarket VC for the A3 8V has been released, and I want to purchase it, although if it's anything like this and it will give me incorrect fuel readings, I'm not sure if I will like that.

Comfortable mention how much you spent? I'm 38 and only two years ago could I afford my 01' Celica GT-S $8K but with all the stuff I fixed/upgraded it's now at $14K. I REALLY wanted one of these instead, but I need a daily opposite my Supra and the 6th gen is INCREDIBLY expensive at least here in Oregon. She looks amazing. You better keep her in amazing shape and enjoy her :)

I’ll try my best aha, price wise I mention in the video & here in the UK most GT-Fours have over 130K miles what’s quite a lot. Mines got 99700KMs what’s just under 62K miles. The Gen 6 is my favourite celica with the gen 5 in a very close 2nd

The polo GTi are dq200 not dq250 The dq200 has issues with the mechatronics and clutch packs as they are dry clutch The dq250 does not have the same issues, they are tested to 700nm on stage 3 setups perfectly fine Yes mechs go wrong but nowhere near as often as you make out.

Polo 6C was a DQ250, the polo I’m referring too as it’s roughly the same year as mine. I’ve heard the stories and seen myself how unreliable they can be when pushing bigger power through them.

Used to live in London. In 2021 bought a 2009 2.0tsi GT for 5k. Had problems with ignition coils. I have to say to anyone out there... it's REALLY important you go to a proper, reputable, skilled mechanic (bonus if he has specific VW knowledge). I went to 2 mechanics in London (one was VW affiliated), the other a bit of an MOT cowboy, both let me down. Anyway, moved back to Ireland and had recurring cylinder/coil issues until i finally found a top mechanic (i was lucky). I've have had ZERO problems since (3 years later), fantastic car

Honestly working on your own cars (if you can) is a blessing. I honestly think for everyday driving that doesn’t “break the bank” the vws are the best cars to buy. That’s just my opinion. Ik plenty of people who have never had a problem. All depends on who drives them and how you drive them.

Hey brother good video! Although I’d recommend changing the HKS intake…the foam filter has been known to get sucked in by these cars.

@@ElliotHarris03 Id recommend Apexi or blitz. You could honestly just get a replacement for the intake tubing as well and get a good aftermarket filter

Induction kit I love ramair, coil overs I’ve gone with stance+, yes they’re stiff but they’re not terrible. If you’re looking to push some good power through them then I 100% reccomend bigger brakes as the standard ones are only 312MM on the front. No point in having huge power & nothing to stop it with

Honestly with the tyres i was the same on cheap ones, went through a ridiculous amount every couple months, got some conti sc7’s on my new wheels and they’ve been unreal, still loads of life after months

@@ElliotHarris03 as we’re heading towards the winter I’d definitely recommend SC7s. I had some PS4s this year and in the summer they were great, but during bad weather they aren’t the best, especially for a FWD car. The CS7s are also great in the summer, but definitely better in the worse weather for a daily car!

Water pumps are out of kinder suprise eggs, they’re terrible. Manuals are fine, clutch & internal gearbox rebuilds wouldn’t be a quater of the DSG ones.

Got a scirocco myself that is very similar, Running goodyears and I'm on my 3rd set (front) after just over a year. I also slapped some Bilstein's b14's on and gained a lot of stability when putting power down (straights or corners).

Must be a scirocco thing to eat away at tyres then🤣 would you recommend the b14s? Ideally if I see a set of airlift cheap enough I’d like to snatch them up but I would also like to send it to the track at some point

@@ElliotHarris03 Couldn't comment on airlift, undoubtably more comfy though. Suspension turned out to by the limiting factor for grip rather than tyres, on some backroads and at brands hatch the difference was night and day, I'd need to get a seat & 5 point harness to make the most of that, but its my daily so 😁

Looks like a nice clean example, youve got a good spec one. Prime MR2 do a really good A Pillar gauge holder that I havent bothered screwing in, wedges in really well

I never really sorted the fuel range issue out as it tells me how much fuel is left and I go off that. However besides from that it’s pretty solid tbh, I 100% would recommend having it done
