It's always amazing to see any content made on this game, it was a huge part of my childhood and I constantly reference it. Honestly I'd adore one of these videos on the old Bionicle Heroes game. That was another huge one I'd love to replay sometime, but I don't think I can.

There's a fan remake of the game that improves the graphics and controls and fixes most of the bugs. I'm glad they kept the AI mostly the same, though: part of the fun of the game is how you're often not so much controlling your units but just managing your team of little idiots who keep doing stupid stuff like walking onto a ledge about to crumble into a lava in order to fetch a shiny rock or stopping in the middle of a monster attack to have a sandwitch.

Hahaha I love how there’s a tnt about to blow up beside them and they decide to climb that wall, eat a sandwich, and eat a face full of tnt 😂😂 it makes for some amazing comedic moments! Thanks for checking the video out :)

Rock Raiders is such a gem! I highly advise you look up Manic Miners -- it's a fan-made remake of the original with lots of the jank fixed up and many QoL features including a map editor so you can make your own experiences. Totally think you'd enjoy it! Great video btw :)

*Excuse me, but you do know there are still Rock Raiders servers right??* The game has been active unofficially since early 2000 on privately hosted servers with an average player count of ~10,000 a week. I've had my account for over 20 years now. Kind of sad that you didn't mention that at all in this video.
@frustratedcanadian2 ай бұрын
I was more focused on the base game and its history for this video! I’ve seen that there is something called manic miners where they’re actively recreating the game. I haven’t heard of any private servers, though. I just wanted to primarily focus on the base game that launched in the 90’s for this. Thanks for the feedback though, I’ll be sure to include active communities and player bases in future videos!

Cargo trains will reload and return when needed. I never let tracks dead end in a terminal like that. Trains have to back out, cross the switch to go the other way. That can cause problems if another train is waiting to get in. Make a loop out the other end, use TM:PE to mark the tracks as one-way. I'll have to post a screenshot of my setup. I have 4 double-track stations. That's 16 platforms, all isolated from each other. Only 11 are connected at the moment. I'll link the others to commercial districts and unique factories later. Once connected, I'll be able to load/unload 16 trains at the same time. Fun stuff.

@@frustratedcanadian In the Cities Skylines community-at-large, “Vanilla” does include all DLC, and excludes custom assets and mods.
