I’m gonna analyze the heck out of this performance just because I can lol -The way she turns away from him as she gets more into the story of her birth (her facing him when talking about her mom could signify that she doesn’t blame either of them for abandoning her, which she thinks he will). -The kneeling down so he can really LOOK at her, but at the same time caressing him with like…feigned affection. Maybe it’s half genuine. -The slow progression towards the steps and going up onto the platform like she’s going further and further into hysteria. -The way she crouches down like a feral creature when describing herself as one. -How she eventually comes back down to him which shows that the anger is running dry and it’s just pure despair.

They are incredible!! Such amazing talent!!

What a wonderful Aldonza in both voice and acting. She is a very complex role with such a wide range of emotions and this performer conveys them perfectly both musically and dramatically.

What a beautiful performance! Your singing was so sad and soothing at the same time, and your movement flowed with it. You bring so much of yourself to this performance, you commit so much of yourself, it absorbs me, leaving me without thoughts, words. In traditional opera, and even in recital/concert, a singer seems to hide behind so much makeup and costume. In this performance, I feel you pressing your limits on so many dimensions.
