Hello so, when we start from age 4 by the start, can't we advance to song or other dynasties?

That has to be the most idiotic battle tactic ever: "Okay, here's the plan. We'll run in circles until we're exhausted and then they'll kill us. Mount up."

I will say though, I remember wishing I had some hand mortars during a citadel siege when the walls were too high for my rockets to hit targets behind the wall since I had already degraded their archers.

I don't understand why they never thought of kneeling fire, like one rank kneeling and firing, while the two ranks in the back fire over them, do the shuffle if needed to get in line of fire?

That's weird. It really should be way more effective against infantry. The only way this makes sense is if each shot has a maximum number of targets it can damage. In that case they would be really good against high quality low quantity units like cav, heroes etc.

I think the larger units size gets more models clumped up and stalls the formation preventing them from running away. The size of the circle needs to be bigger more spread out for larger formations. Not that this is going to be fixed now unfortunately.

from what I see the only downside to fire by rank is that it takes a little longer for unit to aim so actualy ordering them to fire doesn't do anything (which is important because you don't want to micromanage your entire force all the time) which means that you should avoid using it against cavalery but that is about it and since enemy archers will always have better range you should never use them to fight with archers

A bit late to the party here but for 40 units, an average of 30 kills is pretty decent. These are seige units

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brittonicisms_in_English Rise of the periphrastic aspect, particularly the progressive form (i.e. BE verb-ing: I am writing, she was singing etc.). The progressive form developed in the change from Old English to Middle English. Similar constructs are rare in Germanic languages and not completely analogous. Celtic usage has chronological precedence and high usage.[31] Celtic Englishes employ the structure more than Standard English. E.g. "It was meaning right the opposite", Manx English[32] Other linguists have demonstrated that this form likely arose from two constructions that were used fairly rarely in Old and Early Middle English. The first used a form of beon/wesan (to be/to become) with a present participle (-ende). This construction has an analogous form in Dutch.[33] The second used beon/wesan, a preposition, and a gerund (-unge), and has been variously proposed as being influenced by similar forms in Latin and French[34] or Brittonic, though evidence one way or another is scant.[35] Over the course of the Middle English period, sound shifts in the language meant that the (-ende) participle ending and the (-unge) gerund ending merged into a new ending, (-ing). This change, which was complete in southern England around the late fifteenth century and spread north from there, rendered participles and gerunds indistinguishable. It is at this point that a sudden increase in the use of progressive forms is visible, though they would not take their current form until the eighteenth century.[36] Herbert Schendl has concluded that "with this feature, a polygenetic origin ... seems attractive, and at least the further extension of the progressive is a language-internal development."[37]

For me a speaker of several southern Chinese languages, their check tone 入聲 seems already degraded into glottal stop in the dark age, like the Wu dialects. I can't hear a clear ending p/t/k. edit: ok I take a look at other videos and I think I can hear them now.

Yeah sometimes it's just a glottal stop, like when feudal age light cav say 出發 but I think for most other units it's consonants. Especially for scouts and villagers like when they say 攻擊敵人 and it's like "gong gek dik nin"

The fact that they need an armory is weird, same thing with Shimazu heavy gunners, why would I want my gunners to have armor instead of accuracy? It just doesn't make sense. Long range artillery units aren't as strong as they seem in this game, especially the hand mortars and the European canons. Fire rockets are meh, I like that split second when the rockets hit and I see units flying before most of them stand up back again.

I used to make a full stack army of hand mortars and fire rocket and walk it up to a weak castle just to watch the defenders to be blown up and get PTSD... I usually run out of ammo before I win so I just retreat and do it again!

Hmm. Seems like if these guys were firing from inside a castle with the walls manned by bowmen or even better, matchlocks, that would be absolutely devastating to an attacking force. I could see them taking 50% casualties even before they made it to the wall, or worse, depending on army sizes.
