@DougReiserFishing
@DougReiserFishing 21 күн бұрын
@@rdpatterson21 I do show the baits I use in a lot of my videos. In this video I caught one on a spro poppin frog at marsh creek and one on a drop shot with a robo worm in morning dawn. At muddy run I think they were mostly on that same drop shot. A few on a Texas rigged strike king rage bug in blue craw and the smallmouth bit a green pumpkin foot ball jig when I was swimming it back to the boat. I usually focus on the wood at muddy run or the points. I also fish a hump with the drop shot

@DougReiserFishing
@DougReiserFishing 21 күн бұрын
@@phillyspeaks I don’t fish Nockamixon often. Maybe a few times a year. I’ve had good luck there in the early spring with a shad colored chatter bait mostly. In the summer I mostly fish the grass or lily pads with a frog or Texas rig creature bait.

Thanks Doug! I have caught tons of saltwater fish on jigs but the bass elude me with jigs. Usually end up resorting back to spinner baits, crank baits and slider head worms. Your videos always make me try jigs again!

Solid fishing there Doug. Couple of quick question if you don't mind. 1) When off the bank is you jig hitting bottom mostly? 2) How long would you cast shallow before putting emphasis on deep? thanks man
@DougReiserFishing
@DougReiserFishing Ай бұрын
Usually I start shallow with a jig and after hopping it a few times I reel it slowly back to boat. This usually tells me if they want it shallow or if they want it swimming. Later in the day as the sun comes up I start focusing on deep spots like points, ledges, or brush piles that i find with my electronics. This day they were biting in all depths which is rare. Still couldn’t get a big bite but it was a fun day for sure.
@DougReiserFishing

I also recommend a 1/2 oz football jig with a craw trailer in some sort of brown or green pumpkin if fishing it around wood and rock. I’ve also found it’s important to use at least 17 lb fluoro with a med/heavy rod. At least that’s what works for me
