Thank you. I hammered out the Romans really quickly and the new Warlord stuff paint up so well. I think it's the 2nd most productive month I've ever had.

Look great as always. I have about a hundred romans I’m thinking about painting up, they have been sitting around for awhile
@jvcpaints3 күн бұрын
Thanks, dude. Black primer on the romans, drybrush white for the chainmail and then a detail brush for picking out all the leather and buckles and stuff. Do the shields separate and don't worry about painting what the shields will cover. You'll have them done in no time. I think I was bashing out 6 a day and then prepping the next 6. It was super quick. Like 2 weeks total. Still need to base them. No that hockey is back on, Sundays have me for 6 hours in the morning just plowing through stuff. Wait til you see the Spartans, sheckler.

84 minis painted is really good! Awesome work! Legio! Aeterna! Aeterna! Victrix! I love the Romans! Shame on you for gaming in the middle of the challenge. Ha ha! Who would do that!?! 😆 Thank you for joining the paint challenge! Next year we will do this again! Take Care.

Thanks for having it! I knew I was bending and contorting the rules, but it was all about the painting. I'll make sure to give you another shout out when I get the Romans all based and actually done done.

Do you think the American infantry could pass as paratroopers in winter coats? I’d want to try and make them look like easy company at Bastogne from band of brothers maybe. Thanks!
@jvcpaints3 күн бұрын
For sure they could pass as Easy Company. I think all you'd have to do is the spade on the side of the helmets without the helmet covers and you'd be golden! They don't have a lot of equipment like bayonets and spades, but heaps of weapon choices. Probably one of the best kits Warlord has done and super fast to paint too.

They look amazing buddy. I think your German Para’s look better than the way warlord painted theirs, maybe the blue shade they used? Anyway they all look ace. Romans look on point too.
@jvcpaints3 күн бұрын
Thanks, Anthony. Yeah, the Warlord FJ looked way too cartoony in that blue. The Victirx Romans were so fun and fast to paint. I can't recommend them enough.

The blue worked great for shading the white uniforms and I also liked the effect on the boots. Helmets with or w/out covers are excellent, and the ginger haired soldier was a brilliant touch. Very nicely done James. Keep 'em coming.

Cheers, Lucian. I'm waiting for a book I bought on Amazon last month that was to be released on the 1st of this month and it is still missing. I know the feeling. How are you going to do up the PnzrIV?
Amazing brush work and a great effort, these new figures are ultra amazing, the detail on the figures is warlords best work yet.
@jvcpaints7 күн бұрын
Thanks very much. I have to agree that the details on these figures is exceptional and Warlord is moving in the right direction with their sculpts. Comparing them to the original German Infantry they did for Bolt Action 1ed. is like comparing apples to oranges. Way better now.

Nice one.. Not heard about the FACTS of a ginger guy in your army, thats interesting. Is it only one or at least one ginger ?
@jvcpaints7 күн бұрын
Thanks very much. I make sure every army has at least one ginger guy in it, however I tend to sneak more in if I can. I'm sure I had a reason for doing it when I started doing it back when I was a kid, but now it's just habit. lol

I’m finally getting around to buying this. I bought four of these (different battle kits) and this was the one I really wanted but never actually pulled the trigger. Recently I felt like they were close to selling out so now or never. Anyway, I had to re-watch this series as you did a great job (watched it and commented years ago). Thanks for posting (3 years ago) so laggers like me to still enjoy! 😊

Thanks for checking out the archives. It was a bit of an education for me at first, but when I got the time together it went well. I hadn't done a lot of MDF at that time, so a bit more experience would have helped. Are you going to do up the interior?

Very nice, really like the brown for the overcoats. Most examples I’ve seen look too brown almost. I caught the names of individual paints, none of which I recognised, which range have you used?
@jvcpaints14 күн бұрын
Thanks very much. I use primarily the Americana Craft Paints which are sold in larger craft stores, like Michael's, in the US and Canada. I don't know the UK equivalent. They tend to have pretty basic names compared to GW colors.
