I have no idea why I am not getting the same Internet connection when using the same equipment and configuration. It's saying that the browser cannot see my IP address. Hmmmm
@DiventionTechnologies12 күн бұрын
When using the hotspot as your makeshift ISP, did you turn the wifi off the hotspot. This will allow you to only connect to your wifi router.
@ebwhite1312 күн бұрын
@@DiventionTechnologies Yes. Followed everything to the T. It says that it does not see my IP but I see it. I connect to the wifi router but it does not give me an internet connection.. The linksys IP# is different than the netgear IP#. I can log into the netgear router directly and get an internet connection. I am using the Linksys MR7350 Mesh Wi-Fi Router (Wi-Fi 6 Router, Dual-Band Wireless).

I have the exact same wireless router as yours, this time. I made some progress. However, I a getting a message stating that Linksys requires a WPA2 Personal Password. Do you I need to set that up on my computer when joining the WiFi network or do I do that using the NetGear M6Pro Hotspot? Please advise.Thank you for taking the time to assist me with this....
@ebwhite137 күн бұрын
After further testing, NetGear does have a push function for the user to connect to the router using WPS Personal Password connect but the WiFi has to be enabled. Other then that, it says I am connected to the Linksys wireless router but I do not get an internet connection and I am using the same linksys wireless router and configured the netgear nighhawk m6 Pro as you.

What would you recommend for someone who wants to shift from communications (media) to governance, risk and compliance?
@DiventionTechnologies2 ай бұрын
With your communication skills, you’re well-suited for GRC since it’s more about policies than technology. Start by exploring free resources on frameworks like COBIT, ISO 27001, and NIST, or consider certifications like CIPP/US to learn privacy laws and compliance. Landing an entry-level compliance role can help you build experience with policies, audits, and regulatory requirements. Best of luck!

Ok I’m 40 years old been around for a long time . Jack of all trades master of none better than master of one . This new generation has limited imagination lack of ability to think outside the box . Life will take you for loops you can’t rely on one things to always get you through obstacles or struggles that may come . For instance I know someone who has a CDLs now she’s pursuing community college business degree . The chick owns a hotshot company that she started while in college clearing 40 grand a mouth no overhead accept taxes and insurance . which is about 3 grand a month on insurance . Maybe what you’re saying applies to certain industries perhaps but not all . Because of her degree she’s getting another business she’s planning to start rental property . Nowhere I can see this lady is limited or at a disadvantage . I grew up listening to a jack of all trades everyone wanted to be . The issue was most folks couldn’t do it . Even folks who have 5 useful college degrees I love it . Another friend of mine has a masters in business administration , finance bachelors , associates accounting . This dude can get a job with no problems at all . He’s highly desirable to companies . Last time I checked he’s making 200 grand a year . I just mentioned all jack of trades people .

In general, I'm curious as to why the industry insists on marketing internet routers that do it all? The router function and the modem function shouldn't be the same piece of equipment. EVERYONE has an old router or two hanging around. That's NOT the speed bottleneck and you can get a good router for $80 if you need a router. Instead, why not make an ass-kicking modem with just an ethernet port for the fastest internet connection? That way, the only focus of the device is on providing fast internet speed. I'm junking my MOFI 4GLTE router (running it with no DHCP or wifi enabled) in a few days when my Netgear Nighthawk 6500 5g router arrives. I wish Netgear would make the modem device by itself.
@Tomtrong-y1b5 ай бұрын
Awesome video.. Exactly how I set up my network. All I want is a 5G internet port. I have my own routers and have had a LOT of problems with crashes when running internet routers. This way I protect my network. Should the modem die, I just need to stick another modem on, setting my router on a static address in the modem.. Then I can seamlessly plug my Asus router into the modem and I'm instantly back up.

I agree with you, but it's not entirely true. Advancing in your career takes more than just learning new skills. The IT job market is highly saturated, so networking and connections are crucial. I've known people with great resumes and new skills who are still stuck in their positions.

My hardest part in learning in IT is you always run into something you don't know or have learned until it's on your face and you need to fix it. Do it one time and then that's it.

For starters, the social media apps on your personal phone are for personal enjoyment or entertainment. And what about the people that don't have social media. As the person paying my phone bill, I will install whatever I like on the phone that I pay for. If they have apps they want me to use for work, they can provide a device specifically for work.

That and the MER levels on one of the frequencies that the modem uses are pretty low that could cause the modem to go offline periodically. It usually happens when the feeder line is either old, and toasted by the sun, or sometimes rodents inside the attic chew on the cable jacket.
