Paul- I wanted to thank you very much for your balance tube replacement instruction for Marvin UDH windows. PS- I replied here as comments were closed on the actual video :). I personally found it very helpful and gave me the confidence to repair 10 windows, 5 of which had broken tubes on both lower and upper sashes. I did have a couple comments on specific steps. One, I found the sash pins that fit in the cam locks were generally loose and needed to be snugged up. Two, I followed the step to remove the head jamb parting stop, but found it a stubborn fit when I went to reinstall it. As an alternative I ended up pulling the foam plug halfway up the jamb liner and then prying out the wood strip seated in the upper part of the jamb liner. Removing this strip gave enough play to get the jamb liner out from behind the end of the parting stop. The strip is thick enough I was able to snap it back in using a soft mallet and the edge of a scrap section of 3/4" hardwood flooring. Lastly, whereas each original balance tube had its own little clip holding it to the top of the jamb liner, for the larger replacement one piece clip you showed which goes the width of the jamb liner, I found the middle part of the clip fouled on the top section of the plastic spine running down the back of the jamb liner. I used side cutters to trim away ~1 in of the spine and the clip sat down neatly over the top of the liner. Thanks again for the video!
