When do you sew in the D rings? It is easier to sew them to the gusset before sewing the gusset in place or after?
@VasileandPavel
@VasileandPavel 2 күн бұрын
For a long time, I made customized bags where I made changes while working on them, adding accessories when the bag was almost finished. For me, it's just as easy to sew the accessories at the end. I’ve come to prefer sewing the D-rings at the end so that I don’t keep getting caught on them while sewing the sides of the bag.

when I don't have the right thickness, I line. I wanted a 2.2-2.4mm thickness, I only had 1.4mm leather, so I lined it. I want the straps to be 3.2-3.4mm thickness so I also lined them. I have a lot of overstocks so I always have a propper lining material.

foarte frumoasa si creativa, is un incepator care inca nu a inceput...m-am uitat in schimb la tot felul de materiale in ultimele zile si mi s-a facut o legatura: daca foloseati unealta aia care face un sant si in care se ingroapa cusaturile.. nici nu stiu cum se cheama....ma gandesc ca ar fi mai bine protejate atele de frecare? are sens? Respect!

How do you store your glue brush between projects so it does not dry making it un usable to spread glue? Or do you clean your brush with solvent every day? I am starting this project today.
@VasileandPavel

I use a polichloroprenic adhesiv, I dilute it with Toluene, so I keep my brushes in jars with toluene on the bottom of the jar.

hello this bag is really nice I just got the pattern for it it will be awhile before I can make it because I have to repay the bank for my new computer so a little while before I can buy some leather btw at around 10:12 o n the video you mention about 2 hole but I could not really understand can you elaborate what the reason is. thank you c.noel. canada

the back of the bag is a little taller than the face of the bag, so there are 2 extraholes on the back. The cover of the bag will look better this way.

I've bought the pattern for this project, can I ask, is the leather for the trim around the outside meant to be thinner than the 2.2mm used for the rest of the helmet? It looks thinner in the video but the instructions/shopping list doesn't mention it. Thanks! Cant wait to make this!

@VasileandPavel
@VasileandPavel 28 күн бұрын
The model is unisex; I have worn this model myself, and I currently wear something very similar (they are very comfortable sandals). I would widen the straps a bit, making them 3.5cm instead of 3cm, and 20mm instead of 1.5cm.

I am in Bucharest, Romania. I buy from a local tannery and I also buy italian overstocks (we have here a good shoe industry and we find a lot of good materials). But in US you have such a good leather, I envy you. My advice is : try to buy from a local tannery if you have one nearby.
