I once didn't recognize my sister for like 20 seconds. I was starring at her and trying to figure out who she is. This is now 15 + years ago. It never happened again. But I will never forget that feeling. It was very very weird.

How well did dish soap work on the deteriorating sticky plastics? I’ve left so many things behind because I too get the icks from that sensation.
@DoctorRAZ2 ай бұрын
well... the results were a little mixed. it definitely helped but the hand was still a smidge sticky... two options: clear coat it with something or (i know this sounds silly but it works) baby powder or cornstarch. it really is sad that a lot of objects in the last few decades are going to be thrown out bc of that gross sticky ick!! good luck with yours!!

Really!?? What would you say is the most common vintage machine for you? (And, roughly, where do you reside?) I am wishing you a wonderful vintage machine in your part of the world to come your way!
@kachnickau5 ай бұрын
@@DoctorRAZ Czechia :) Most common vintage are to sewing desk attached Pfaffs, Lada, Minerva Veritas, Lucznik and others, the soviet block history is having major effect on what was available and therefore what is available now on secondhand/vintage market. West Germany machine with this level of sorcery is unimaginable. I need to try look for some metal workhorse, even if it will not get to the 80s western pfaff levels 🥰😍

I have one off the last model Pfapps made in Germany. Model 7570 from the 1990s. It has12 or so 9 mm decorative stitches. It has an embroidery unit and I paid $4200. They are great machines. U got a terrific buy.!
