This man is a child of destruction, a seed of the Serpent! Do not listen to him, he’s telling you not to obey God’s Word!

LOL no I think Jesus does pretty explicitly say we need to be doing that stuff. Sermon on the mount is the beginners guide to real Christianity. Modern christians just like saying you don’t have to do that stuff because it’s antithetical to the modern Christian lifestyle.

Nope. Jesus says in three gospels "you know the commandments... follow them and you shall have eternal life." When God gives the commandments to Moses he says "Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach... No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.” Jesus never taught anything about a new covenant with new rules. Jesus was a Jew. He taught things in a Jewish context. "Not all who say to me Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my father who is in heaven"

Brother is there such a thing as a Christian school?

I wandered around the wilderness between Mount Sinai and Mount Zion for a little over 40 years..... I kept hearing a very famous pastor from Southern California saying if you want to get to heaven all you gotta do is turn from your sin.... Even before I understood what grace was I was sharing it with people because I was disturbed by the confusing feelings I was getting from a lot of different denominations I was sitting in a church service and the words lifted off the page, you're dead to the law, You're dead to sin.... I get a heavy burden lift off me and float away.....Then I found Andrew Farley who reaffirmed what I went through.... My faith is not a feeling or an experience it is fact, it is scripture

I kindly disagree. It's not impossible to live every teaching from the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus made it clear what our reward will be for doing so. ❤

You can’t live it all perfectly, but in Christ, you can grow in it.

@@purelightapologetics4930 brother, yes you can. I do it everyday and if you slip up, repent and correct. Peace brother. I love you. ✝️🕊️

@@lastspoil5547 Thank you, but what I’m saying is that we’re all going to slip up this side of Heaven. It doesn’t mean we don’t try, but we’re not going to always live it perfectly. And I’m a sister, btw.

@@purelightapologetics4930 you make your decision. If you repented and still believe you can not follow his teachings perfectly then that’s your decision. What teaching from the Sermon on the Mount is difficult for you? It took me 38 years to finally become perfect. It wasn’t easy, but where your heart is, your action will eventually mirror that reflection.

@@lastspoil5547 “This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.” 1 John 1:5-10

Correct! You are fortunate to know this at (seems like it) a young age. I didn't know this until I was 50! I spent 35+ years TRYING to be perfect and couldn't.

Todays Christian’s do not believe in context or reading scripture from a historical frame of reference. They don’t become students of the word, they have become students of their pastors.

I would guess that anybody who has read an annotated shakespeare like Folger shakespeare hamlet or in parallel with a modern translation like No Fear Shakespeare are very well aware of archaic words that have changed in meaning. For archaic kjv, most people give examples like let = hindered, prevent = precede, suffer = allow, etc.

People like you are an answered prayer! I thought I was alone in thinking some of the things that you discuss and stand on. Up until recently, I have struggled to believe and have confidence in my standing with God because of works-based righteousness and all the mixed preaching I’ve been bombarded with. God bless you gentlemen!

Great explanation of a phrase that is widely spoken but rarely elaborated on. Faith in the grace and eternal life Jesus provides us is truly transforming. Forgiveness is given and the burden and fear are lifted. I love the example of the plant; how when we plant our seed in the soil of Christ, we give ourselves the foundation to grow abundantly. And I think it's easy to sometimes forget that it is a journey of continuous growth, for both ourselves and others. Like all relationships, if we want our relationship with our Savior to grow, we must nurture it. We must make time to do the things you mentioned; to meditate and think, to learn about how Christ loved and worked during His life and now how He loves and works through us. Thank you, as always, for caring enough to share your wisdom and spread the hopeful message of the Gospel. - Video viewed on and reply sent from my awesome Android phone
