“What God dreams of for the world.” Nice. Everything begins with what we perceive as spiritual. Spirituality is the foundation, the centre. It is in all and through all things and no-things. Our faith community is one expression of Spirit. In planning worship, I always begin with the common lectionary of our church, then bring my own intention to reach upward and outward for what I sense I can offer and co-construct. What is it that people who attend the worship need? This is found at the nexus of the common lectionary theme, suggested scripture (which I may or may not use, sometimes relying on others), my preparation and people’s present situations. Worship both touches what is past and aligns with the future we don’t yet know. Always guided by God--or what I can sense is God working through me.

I am so glad I attended this class. Thank you Shandra. Excellent. If we all lived the mission prayer, this world would become the Peaceable Kingdom.
