Heyu! Great game and congrats on winning another title! But the real reason why there won't be a Blitz The League III is simple. Not because Midway games is no longer around, it's because the NFL has become a major International institution. And the selling point of Blitz is the extreme injuries and violence (no matter how cartoonish) that is in the game. See, the NFL is VERY sensitive about the bad press it gained following the release of all the CTE injury information that came out following the Congressional hearings AND the tragic deaths of the former players that surfaced. Due to this, an almost hysteriocal alarm went out amongst parents of children and even a few young teenagers of the safety protocols the NFL ignored for decades, thus for a few years, the NFL was in fear of losing new bodies and millions if not billions in revenue behind it. So by playing damage control, the NFL finally sent out words of new safety practices for future players (starting ith the young kids), dumped millions into research and development of new equipment, millions more into medical research grants, and most importantly, BILLIONS into medical retirement packages and settlements to former players and their families. The caveat to all this "good will" was the toning down of the actual violence that occurs during the games. If you notice, neither the NCAA games and certainly not Madden incorporate any type of visceral injuries into their games. Gone are the seconds long footages of players lying on the ground or being carried off the field. That has all been replaced with a very strrile text message and a pic of a player that is no longer available for the team to play. Although I will say...there is a glimmer of hope. Not exactly sure of the status of the EA Madden exclusive contract with the NFL (which prevents other companies from creating any football games close to being an NFL style simulator), but if this contract is allowed to laps, then other game companies (especially those with access to deeper development pockets like 2K) will be incentivized to create Madden alternatives that can rival the undisputed Giant of the moment. To bring Blitz back would only take getting the IP rights from the original company (if EA didn''t buy it first) and getting to work.

MMan I gotta hand it to you. Your team reminds me a lot of the 49ers teams under Bill Walsh back in the 80's. Sure, everyone marveled at the incredible offense that the teams had. But what so often went undervalued and unappreciated was how stout their defenses were. Not only could they get after the QB, but they could shut the entire sky down from passing to almost everybody.
