I used to embroider in very specific places on very bespoke (and expensive) garments, and needed to make multiples of them, identically, even years later. When I need to do an odd placement of embroidery, I use a "sublimation wax chalk" to mark the centres (vertical and horizontal - marked through the entire hoop) of where I want the embroidery to go. This chalk disappears when the product is ironed. Your software will probably allow you to print off a "proof sheet" at 100% size, this is great for planning your placement. I'd often print off two of them, one for filing, and one for cutting up. Great use of the sticky stabilizer, the embroidery looks great.

So cute. I have a question. I saw videos about floating and they close the hoop with stabilizer. Then they embroider on top of the hoop, Have you embroidered that way. Maybe it needs to be a bigger item to float that way. And in the beginning you might of mentioned it that way and I missed it. My first grand daughter will be here in January. I’m excited to embroider her things.

Flip the collar up and squeeze the mighty hoop together so it’s making contact. The collar will prevent the hoop from contacting. Which is probably why the stabilizer keeps going all Willy nilly .

I use the 4x6 Mighty Hoop on these all the time! I know the larger tab from the bottom part is supposed to face out, towards you, but if I need to get close to the bottom of the bucket, I turn it upside down and have it face into the machine - I'm a rebel! The 4x6, 5x5, and 4.25 square are the ONLY ones you can do this with. The other sizes all can only work with the big tab facing towards you. I use name tag magnets to hold the stabilizer on the bottom part of the hoop, removing them after I have the item hooped. LOVE them (I wasn't a fan of the backing holders at all).

Hello Brittany. With items like the baskets, you can take out the wire around the top, then you can use your Mighty hoops. Just make a small cut, pull the wire out, then restitch it back in when you are done. Just an idea. ( I have done this myself ). Regards, Ann.

Your story seems a lot like mine when I first got my Ricoma TC 1501. There is so much to learn, that isn't in any video. I received my machine and I had to wait two weeks before the first class and the instructor broke my machine during the class on video. So they had to send a service man to my home and I live in Texas and I think he came from a city in Texas. He taught me a lot of good tips. It took me almost 3 weeks to get someone to listen to the video and see how my machine was broken. I got the video tech assist also before they decided the part had to be replaced inside the machine. I was down the 6 weeks of ownership.
