Why is path loss expressed in dBm if its a ratio (between Pt and Pr)?

Path loss is expressed in dB, not in dBm.

@@matthewvalenti9911 yeah but I cant seem to understand why. Isnt it (path loss) by def = Pt/Pr which cancels out the dB unit and only leaves the ratio

@@matthewvalenti9911 after some breif reseaches it seems that ratio of mW can be converted to bear the unit dBm, this conversion is log ratio conversion and it transforms the ratio to a subtraction of apprx Pr=Pt-PL(and some other terms bit i dont remember). This clears some air but Im not so sure ab this explaination. And why dB, isnt it for sounds. Even my prof (heavily based in CS and focused on CyberSec) fell silent at the sudden shift from ratio to dBm (or dB, again Im confused) tho

Preetesh 1RB = 12x7=84 RE which is 0.5ms
