Great job., Excellent film. Robyn is such a strong soul. Sorry to see Diggity's demise and saying goodbye to the camels at the end would have been brutal hard to do. When she said about her visit to the camels and they fell into line beind her when she had to leave cut me deep. :( Such a loving souls all of them.

My God, such a wonderful soul. Your work is super too. To capture this treck was beyond the call of duty. You must have travelled and endured much too. Robyn saying goodbye cut me deep. I can only imagine her pain in saying goodbye to these magnificent gentle giants of the desert. Well done to all!

Wow, time passes very fast... this girl is Rick Smolan's daughter. The whole adventure, the book and the film are really inspiring for everybody. I am glad that the book TRACKS is reading material at Australian schools. The kids will learn not only about the adventure of Robyn Davidson crossing the dessert taking a dog and four camels, but also they will have an impression of the wonders of the dessert, the way of living of the aboriginals, the flora and the fauna they could encounter in those places. Robyn Davison is a terrific good writer and she can tell very good about her vision, dreams and experiences.

I agree with her point around risk and true freedom as something that has been in many respects lost, we live in world obsessed by the need to document and share every aspect of our pretty unremarkable lives, obsessed by jobs we dislike, aspiring to perfect bodies and perfect lives. I really appreciate her story, her daring and character, it is especially remarkable in this day and age where most adventures seem so terribly dull and repetitive, digested to feature on blogs, and social media and devoid of any life, imperfection and true meaning. Bless the searchers, the crazy ones, and the true adventurers out there that resist the tide.

I've just seen the film Tracks which basic simplicity of her trek I enjoyed. Robyn is apparently running a lucrative travel business in India. But what is she doing for the aborigines back home?

Read Robin Davidson travelogue in Australian desert " Tracks": A 1700 miles journey in 2019 on the Kindle. And now seeing her talk about her self is enlightening. Thank you for the upload. I am from India and also a subscriber of National Geography till 2017. As she says found tracks mystical.

"...I hardly recognize that young woman. I mean, who was she?..." A pity. With her posh British accent in tow now, the young, thoughtful, idealistic person with nothing who fought not to "sell out" is now as much ensconced in Establishment as anyone she might have had distaste for then.

The problem of this clip is how they make digital technology the demon, but then go on to show how this was already being done at a professional level before Photoshop, the difference now being in how easy it would be done. But they also do have a point, with this ease there do come questions and an ethical quandary that to this day isn't really solved. And even though its ubiquitous with what seems like virtually everyone photoshopping their images, it doesn't mean its ok or its supposed to happen. We chose this reality.

The camels were used to make a railway line AND a road that is now 100% blacktop from the south to the north, from adelaide to darwin NOT the crap tracks that go everywhere. The camels were actually driven by Indians and Pakistanis commonly referred to as "afghans". A handful married aboriginals near Coober Pedy and most went BACK to India. Just as most chinese did who mined gold here. 2 groups who are almost forgotten because THEY LEFT after their job was over. And solomon islanders would be a third group (sugar business).

You know WHY the kids cracked up at her speech? Coz there's 68 completely different languages NOT ONE and so she was just talking a load of babble after the first week or 2 of traveling.

A shame that all that confrontation was lost when Edward Stourton left the BBC One O’Clock News 1993-1999 at Studio N2 on the 6th floor, Rayworth was just TOO NICE, a breakfast presenter by nature, would have preferred Edward or John Tusa instead.
